Costco had a couple of sales on $500 SW gift cards for $430, limit of 5 per member per sale. I bought 10 and booked all my domestic flights to lock in the rates. No change fees if the announced dates wind up being different

They have sent 2 total texts so far, one for the Last of Us Halloween t-shirt preorder and one on the day the Vs 30th reissue was in stores. I don’t know why I expected something more than marketing messages but I was pretty underwhelmed

I've never flown Southwest. I've always been afraid. The last 20 years, I will only book a flight if I can get aisle seat exit row, or first class. And from what I understand, SW doesn't let you pick your seats, or the way you can seems confusing for a newbie.

You can’t advance select it’s true as they board by numerical order and when you board you can take any seat.  To get a good spot in their numerical order there are various upgrades you can do, not all of which are expensive.

Lol if I gave the impression that I have money.  First class is a rarity for me, and only if it's super cheap. I personally like the way American does it for coach. For an $80 upgrade fee, you get to choose any seat (including front row and exit row), free booze, and your checked bag is free. You'd be paying $60-70 for a checked bag anyway. So for me, it's a no-brainer.

Not done by May. Done in time to be ready for the 2024-25 NBA season, when I suspect the Clippers will open the season on a long road trip to ensure that the arena is ready for its first scheduled game. (See the Islanders starting the 2021-22 season with a 13-game road trip to give them an extra month to make sure UBS Arena was finished.)
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

SW isn't terrible and from STL unfortunately it's the best option for most nonstop flights. Exit row aisle is my preference as well. With "A list Preferred" status (lol) you get an early boarding position. I usually am able to get the exit aisle because many people go for the first few rows. There's also a SW card that gets four free upgraded boarding positions each year which I'll use on longer flights to make sure I get a good spot. Where you can get screwed is if there are "through" passengers from the previous leg who get to stay on the plane and switch seats before anyone else boards and might take the exit seats. Doesn't happen often though.

I don’t think I’ve checked a bag in 20 years. That includes 10 day trips to Europe.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

I just want to get better at packing less. We're going to three different hotels and some of the different cities and countries don't allow the free checked bag, although that's not why, it'll just be easier.

I always have so much fun shopping for vacations. I had so much fun picking out my Hawaiian stuff in winter, and there was good prices off season, too. Same thing when we went on a summer European cruise, 2019 and I had fun picking outfits for that, including a cocktail dress with pretty off-shoulder bows.

When I thought I was going to do Pearl Jam Lollapalooza Paris, 2020, I had fun picking out a Billie Eilish and a Pearl Jam outfit. The Billie Eilish was outlandishly sparkly. I think Ed would have appreciated it better.

I also like paying for my trips in advance so I don't cheap out on the surfing lessons and spending locally.

I suggest the compression luggage bags. I got a set of like four or five on amazon. You can get a whole lot of clothes into a small carryon with them.  We go to Europe every year, and we only have a backpack and carryon.
