You can't announce a new candidate. Biden would have to drop out and then the delegates decide at the convention.
Yes, but it won’t be a surprise if that happens. If Biden drops out, it’ll happen before the convention. And im sure whoever the nominee will be will get leaked and endorsed ahead of time. They’re going to want as much campaign time as possible. It may not be official until the convention, but it wouldn’t be a surprise.

The Dems fucked this up royally and may have destroyed the country in the process. No way Biden should have been more than a 1 term President. That should have been the stance since 2020 election. Now they either stay with a guy who has no chance of lasting 4 more years or replacing him 4 months before the general election. What a disaster.
And who is the choice? Harris, Newsom, Buttigieg (my choice), Whitmer? I also saw some mentions that their is a gray area in having a Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidate from the same state so if they choose Newsom they may have to replace Harris as well.
I could have sworn Biden said several times he was only running for one term back in 2020 to get rid of Trump. But I can’t find any video or articles of him saying that. So maybe I just assumed he wouldn’t be running again.

It would happen before the convention, I agree. But it's not like the DNC can decide who the candidate is before teh convention. You have to have the delegates and super delegates vote, and there are literally 4k delegates that will vote. Now super delegates could come out and state their preference, but it's still a floor vote.
The way I would like to see this play out is Biden drop in the next two weeks, assuming polling shows the country has lost confidence in his ability. Then you will have a handful of candidates throw their names in. Let CNN and MSNBC do a few debates. We'll see the polling but then it comes down to the floor vote. There would like have to be several votes.
I hope it goes down like this, not just as a Democrat, but for the historical value of the race. We ahve had primaries for a century, so a clean floor vote with no pledged delegates hasn't happened since early 20th century. I think it would be great to watch!

Exactly. This highlights the media bias and fervor with how they report all these things “spell trouble for the democrats” while republican negatives are framed up as how they’re still able to maintain their appeal with voters. Trump’s in obvious mental decline, different type than Biden’s, made even worse because Trump’s starting point was at the same intellect as a 12 year old.

friend “was one of the many girls that had sexual relations with Donald Trump” – including at Epstein’s New York townhouse.
“She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr Trump
definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept
going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples’,” she testified.
She
then described in graphic detail how Mr Trump allegedly caused pain to
the victim’s nipples – and claimed she saw the resulting injury
firsthand.
“I
also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery’s NY mansion
on regular occasions as I once met Jen for coffee, just before she was
going to meet Trump and Epstein together at his mansion,” she said.

mention of Mr Trump in the documents so far has not accused him of any

unsealed extracts were included in a letter sent by attorneys
representing Alan Dershowitz, seeking to undermine Ms Ransome’s
credibility. Ms Ransome said that she had seen sex-tapes involving
prominent figures including Prince Andrew and UK billionaire Richard
Branson.
Mr Trump was not alleged to have been involved in the sex tapes.
In a New Yorker article released in 2019, Ms Ransome said that “she had invented the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior, and to make him believe that she had ‘evidence that would come out if he harmed me’”.
She did not appear to address the validity of other claims from the emails in her comment to the outlet.
Steven Cheung, spokesperson for Mr Trump, told The Independent: “These baseless accusations have been fully retracted because they are simply false and have no merit.”
Other
mention of Mr Trump in the documents so far has not accused him of any
illegality, but claims he and Epstein were on good terms.
In
part of testimony from another victim Johanna Sjoberg, it was claimed
Epstein once “called up” the former president and visited one of his
casinos after his private plane was diverted to Atlantic City in New
Jersey.
Ms Sjoberg said that while travelling on the plane with
the disgraced financier the pilots had said that they were unable to
land in New York as planned.

get massages at the Palm Beach house because he had “his own spa”, Mr
Alessi said.

spokesperson for Mr Branson’s Virgin Group said: “We categorically
reject all allegations made by Sarah Ransome. In 2016, Ms Ransome
retracted her claims and then in 2019 after settling her claims with
Epstein and Maxwell, she also admitted to The New Yorker that the
“tapes” had been “invented”. The allegations are baseless and unfounded.
“The actions of Jeffrey Epstein were abhorrent and we support the right to justice for the many victims impacted by his abuse.”

The new documents contain “incendiary claims” about the former president, including accusations that he had sexual relations with “many girls”, made by one of Epstein’s alleged victims, Sarah Ransome.
Mr Trump’s name has appeared a handful of times previously in the documents and, while not accusing him of wrongdoing, appears to illustrate the good relationship he had with the disgraced financier.
In the newly unsealed documents, Ms Ransome testified that her unnamed friend “was one of the many girls that had sexual relations with Donald Trump” – including at Epstein’s New York townhouse.
“She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples’,” she testified.
