Saw a screen shot from Mumford w the Manhattan bridge in the background so I guess we het him for MSG. More burning skies and bridge views.
Definitely shares the same sky, perspective and rock textures as his MSG 2020 poster. And with this post being ~2 months ago, seems like it'd fit into the print timing.

Interesting. Hope it's tied in with 9/11 somehow. Should be an emotional show.

Great art and I loved the first few he did for Eddie Vedder, but…. his posters are starting to feel stale. I wish Mumford chose to go in another direction for this poster.

Thinking the concept was inspired by Ripley’s Aquarium which is just up the block…
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with Toronto. The back of the poster kind of explains his thoughts. I can post it later, but the candle staying lit underwater is supposed to represent keeping hope/inspiration/etc alive even while under crushing pressure.

Sure, I’ll have to remind myself every time I look at it lol
If indeed it has to do with Ripley's Aquarium, this opened in 2013 and has nothing to do with Toronto other than it being a tourist attraction/trap. I like the poster and it looks pretty cool, I did however think that artists do a bit of research on the city before putting something together. Nice poster, not related to Toronto in the slightest way....

I'm sure this has been posted a million times.. if there is a thread, please point me into the right direction..
Does everyone check a bag to transport posters? I really don't want to check a bag and have to lug everything around the city. My flight gets way in before check in time, sadly. any tips?

Lot of hotels offer luggage storage until check in. That's what I'm doing.

I don't get the continued issues people have with artists making posters that are simply great and creative--while having nothing blatantly obvious in connection with the city.
Noblesville IN '98: What in the hell does a severed monster head have to do with Noblesville?
But it's easy to cherry pick any instant classic poster and say the art transcends the need to be tied to the city. Right? So, let's simply look a bit at the history of PJ Toronto show posters prior to 2022: Barrie/Toronto 98--It's a GD tractor. Toronto is a major tourist city. (It's one of Ames' best posters ever.) Toronto 00--No show poster, just the generic Binaural posters. Toronto 03--What the hell do embracing robots have to do with Toronto? Toronto 05--Lumberjack dude (Paul Bunyon?) (I mean, Toronto's a city...not a forest, right? Ames did hit it out of the park with this because it really works well with the Barrie 98 and Montreal 05 posters.) Toronto 06 N1--Ames acid trip. I mean, it's art. It's NOT at all Toronto themed. Toronto 06 N2--The Severed Hand poster. This, to me, is Klausen's best print ever. Zero to do with Toronto. Toronto 09--nothing to do with the city...rather much to do I believe with a dream Klausen continually had. Toronto 11--Munk Moose playing violin. I think many people consider this a classic print. It has a Moose, which is very Canadian. I've never known them to be in Toronto--but I'm not an expert on Moose. Toronto 11--Dabs' weird Pac Man Beaver. It has a Beaver and Toronto skyline. (Yay for the city tie in--wait, I have to hang that on my wall?!) Toronto 16 N1--Veca "Bluto" print. This one...it's an acquired taste--and also very absent of any Toronto ties. Toronto 16 N2--Mark5 Bluejay on a bike. It's a fun print and I'm reminded the MLB team is of course the Blue Jays. But, interestingly, Toronto's official bird is the Gray Jay (props to M5 for the tourist tie in mentioning exploring on the print's back) Toronto 20 (Cancelled)--Beavers destroying what is the presumptuous city of Toronto. (Epic. Ties in enough Canadian things *beavers/urban identifiers for Toronto effect, with things relevant to PJ *Yield sign, environmental concerns).

I'm with you on the posters not needing to be related to the city, but I kinda feel like referencing the city's MLB team is related to the city.
