So it seems they will be using the same artists as originally intended. It makes sense, but I wish it would have all been new.
i guess there goes any surprises

Cool poster for Quebec City. I think some of our expectations are a little too high with posters.
I honestly don't get what people expect with posters. Even setting aside the inherent subjectivity, what are people expecting? It's well-drawn, clean, and doesn't look like it was knocked together 5 minutes before deadline (though, maybe that's what people like?). On the note of subjectivity, I love this poster (feels like the cover of a fantasy novel to me), and I really don't get why some posters are revered in this community, but such is art, no?

Given the amount of artists in rotation (and 20+ posters a year between EV/PJ), it's probably just certain aesthetics that people are wanting or more output from the same artists that had heavier rotation in years past. More to compare against in both styles and content of posters, more preferences to build stronger opinions, more chances the poster for *your* show doesn't live up to others. I've cut back on some because of this, but that's easy because I don't have much wall space nowadays.

Camden
You have to assume Ames since they had Baltimore.

Posters always look better in person, even the ones I do not like. Black and red are not my favorite colors for posters and the Owl's face is odd. Just me. Enjoy it if you like it!
Hahah yeah they have to be. 55 for a poster and 90 for a crew neck would be madness

It can't be that bad. Can it? How much are DMB posters at the shows?
I didn't think the poster we got at the DMB show last summer was all that expensive, but I don't remember. Maybe $50? Can't fathom that we'd have bought it if it was much more than that. Didn't care for any of the shirts/other merch, so I didn't even bother looking at the prices.

I'm not so excited to see Hamilton's poster, given the complete monochrome nature of the artist attached to the 2020 one. Great artist, cool illustrations, boring sense of tone.
