With what happened this tour i think its the safe route to go ,  just stop playing festivals please!

a lot of people finance´s got hurt badly with an accident(that could have been also very bad for the bands future aswell as eddie´s health) that could easily be avoided if they tour europe in autumn/winter like they used to do in 2006 or before.

So if they Tour in winter and Mike slips on some ice, will you say “Stop touring Europe in winter!!!”?
    Seriously, this is ridiculous
plus, by your logic they’re not allowed to tour anywhere during summer?!

I think this is a fair comment. Summer in Europe is nuts. It is hot as hell, traveling is expensive, trains and planes are busy and unpredictable. I think that late summer and early autumn like in 2006 is much better option.

Not sure this is the solution. Would you be happier if they never played outdoor shows again? That is the cause of the problem, not touring in summer. It was a particularly dry and dusty summer here in Europe which didn't help.

In the winter you are more likely to be run down with colds, it is harder to warm up vocally and there are various other hazards to put up with.

Normally I'd strongly disagree with this, but it was even hot as balls in the UK this year.

The 2013 West Coast leg was amazing - ice cold winter, all indoor shows, Ed singing Mr Plow in Calgary! :D

winter would be great for a UK/Euro tour. unless we get just ONE flake of snow and the country closes down...

They make huge money off of the festival season and play arena shows around them. Sure they could just do an arena run but as a business does that make sense?

The summer have the festivals. Ofc they will tour in the summer.

And not playing festivals? Has there been an epidemic of artists loosing their voice from
    playing festivals?

What they should do is a Gothenburg x3 run where it is a bit colder, the people have a strong social democratic backbone and we have mooses.

Throw in a Reykavik and a Helsinki show too.

    LETS GO.

On a more serious note and keep the threat serious, many are right about summer issue but to fight that at least stop doing festivals shows.

    Just do indoor shows

Plus, even if it's hot, I prefer to wait for hours outside an arena in the summer.

They could stop doing festivals here every 2 years or so. They only pull an average of about $2 million for each of these. These are what make the tours cost effective and probably offset the reality that they charge us below the market rate for a 10c ticket.

Add the losses from no festivals onto arena prices so they are paid the same and watch the complaints roll in.

Agreed. It was a blast and I also got to see other standout acts like Cat Power, the Pixies, Johnny Marr and the Petrol Girls.
I doubt any of the 65,000+ at BST would agree with this.

I think the other alternative would be for people to make a choice and pick spots that work best for them.  If you don't want to see a show in a festival environment - than don't.  I personally avoid them.  I understand those in countries outside of the US might be limited in their options to see this band, so I get it, but we all have the final decision on how and where we spend our money.  It might just be that the band really likes playing festivals to attract a broader fanbase or that they get to visit places with their families during the summer time and see other bands of interest - or maybe it also has to do with financial reasons - that's ok as well - it is the band's prerogative.

I'm still hoping we get a summer tour of the U.S. in the near future. But, I do agree with those that are just happy they are still touring at all. Feels like that might be where we are right now.

Also about Hyde Park, the “ten club” viewing area made it possible to get there late in the day and still have a good spot.  It was like having a VIP ticket but not for a VIP price.
