Disappointed that the show isn’t happening. I get why and hope Ed’s voice heals up. Every cloud and all that means that we managed to go to our favourite Indonesian restaurant for dinner. Long Pura on Rozengracth

Sorry but I’m sitting here at a bar outside the venue and we get the announcement 1 hour before doors open. This is unacceptable and unprofessional

Given the on going situation a call should have been made 24 hours in advance so that folks could cancel flights / hotels and get a refund if they could

I don’t wish anyone ill and I hope EV gets better soon but this has been handled very poorly

They are selling merch right now for tomorrow nights show. Gonna go out on a limb and say that’s not a good sign… hope I’m wrong..

I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that show is getting canceled as well. No reason to think 24 hours is going to make that big a difference for Ed if five days hasn't.

Flew in this morning. This is a bad joke. Let's not kid ourselves. If Ed can't sing today then that was known yesterday. Fact. More could have been done to inform fans.

It's an awful situation and there are no perfect solutions. They may have limited options due to contracts and insurance, we don't know. But...if they do know that tomorrow's show is getting cancelled, too, then there was no reason to include the bit about trying to play tomorrow in the cancellation announcement. That's either a good sign or a tone-deaf kick in the balls.

There must be some kind of insurance payout to the venue in these situations when an artist is sick, right? Perhaps there is a point at which they have to be confirmed as unable to play for that to be triggered - hence the late cancellation notification? I’m clearly talking out of my hole, would be interesting to hear from anybody that knows how this stuff works on the business end.
That's exactly it... Lots more to it than what people posting here think
I was going to post the same thing. Even if there is more going on it is incredibly shitty to the fans. Even if the band has no control over the situation it’s not fair to the fans. God forbid if it ever comes out that the band never had any intentions of playing these shows because they knew Ed’s voice was toast. The fact that they haven’t even bothered to soundcheck is pretty telling…
It sucks but it isn't intentional.

Anyone at HQ reading this...just cancel the show tomorrow, or make a decision in the morning instead of an hour boven doors open. Don't make me go through the same thing as today, thanks!:)

    Feel better Ed.

The merch gives the answer for the show tomorrow unfortunately.  I don’t get the merch sale thing tbh…

Offcourse tomorrow's show will be cancelled.
In the PJ statement saids Ed voice was still not returned. It should be back by a few days now if you want tomorrows show to be continued.
His voice needs to be good a few days and then you can sing again for 2 hours. If its back for 80% or 90% there is.....lets see.........0% chance

He can't sing today after all the treatment and rest?
But in Vienna they thought the show had a chance and only cancelled in the last minute?
    Doesn't seem to fit...

Kid Rock cancelled his ND state fair show 2 hours before doors opened and fans trashed the grounds.

Sounds like we're a different tribe in Amsterdam.

As for the soundcheck, well the non soundcheck, it was exactly the same in Vienna.
    I am really irritated .....

Here waiting for tomorrow, hoping that they - the band - will perform. Eddie can sit, relax, smile, talk a bit, while we get guitars and drums and more over the crowd singing the best concert this Europe tour has known !
Bring it on tomorrow guys, this is an all encompassing trip.

After leaving merch and having picked up my Tenclub Tickets at Vienna, around 2.30 /2.45 pm, Iheard "Black" from inside the Stadthalle (without vocals, but that was soundcheck for me)...

They were selling merch for both shows since 2pm today.

We were told, at 4.25pm ish, that there would be 2 more merch stands inside the venue that would have a small quantity of Amsterdam posters, tees and stickers.

Why would you want a poster to a show that never happened where you waited in line for hours at huge personal expense only to be told sorry 2 hours before. Frame that!

  • If the show was cancelled yesterday à lot of people could have saved a lot of money… Now I spent close to 1000$ in flighttickets and hotel and spent 4 hours i line only to find that all posters and event shirt were sold out… I have no problem at all with Eddie being sick but this organisation need to do a lot better moving forward….

It’s disappointing and surprising (to me at least) to see how poorly the fans are being treated here.  If tomorrow’s show is going to be cancelled too, which seems likely given that they are selling off today’s merch already, then it really is unforgivable to not announce that now as hundreds maybe thousands are traveling from outside Amsterdam. The band all know this. The decent thing to do is be up front with those fans.
    Get well soon EV.
