I’d be very disappointed honestly. 23 songs is not it. That’s a festival set at best. Hopefully they’re just easing into the tour.
They played for so long though.  Really odd.

Hmm, I hope this sin't the new norm.

We need to wait and see, but I took a wait and see approach with this tour before making a big effort to go to a lot of shows.  If it is a 25 song set list with 7 songs left as wild cards each night than I will be less inclined to go to more shows.  Will hit the cities I want to go to.

They were on stage for 2 hours and 44 minutes, Eddie talked A LOT.. Said he won't do so at other shows.. To me sounds like if they're on stage that long that we are likely to get an increase in song count with less talking no? Not sure why others aren't seeing that.
I would guess the opposite. Probably less talking and same number of songs. 2:25-2:30 long show.
I think you are right. After all, it's not like songs were scratched off the setlist because they ran out of time.

Wasn’t Fenway 2018 about 2.5 hours and 30 songs? I know it said here 2 hr 40, but I recall there was a fairly long wait at beginning and end of show. And Ed talked ALOT.
Yes. Fenway 1 2018 was shorter because Jeff got stuck in traffic on the way to the show.

That’s almost even worse imo. 50 min between them and the opener. Then over 2.5 hours for only 23 songs? Sounds brutal.

I wasn’t there so I’m just commenting from my couch. I’m sure it was a great show but Pj has made a certain reputation for themselves when it comes to live shows and this just doesn’t feel up to their standard (on paper)

Yea, I actually agree.  But maybe he was just pumped for a hometown show and finally ending the two year delay.

Could be. He still wrote the set with no second encore and 23 songs. Just feels off to me.

^ This. I think this is the approach most people will follow if the sets continue to be this short.

Yes which obviously means it was a decision before They even hit the stage. No time constraints or audibles due to EV rambling.

will be very interesting to see the two LA sets. Looking back at their 2013 tour (which is the one to focus on since that was an album-support tour). They did switch up sets quite a bit on the b2b city shows. They were still hitting 30 songs tho so you can play a lot of the new stuff while swapping out others.

Looks like a cool show.  Glad they're back.  Heavy Gigaton as expected.  Some cool setlist variation and Long Road mid set is amazing.  A bit concerning that they played ONE song between No Code, Yield, Binaural and RA combined.  I hope that isn't the new norm.

That's my only concern tbh. Pumped to see them no matter how many songs.

A lot of you all would have hated Led Zeppelin live if you are complaining about 23 songs in a 2:45 concert.

Not the point and a silly argument.  Im not comparing them to LZ or Paul McCartney. I’m comparing them to them.

Tool plays 13 songs and one of them is a drum solo. Now if tool use to play 20 songs a night and dropped 7 then we could compare the 2. Same goes with Led Zeppelin. You can’t compare them to Pearl Jam.

I would lose my mind if they just play 9 minute versions of 10 songs.  I love guitar, but I'm not a fan of jam bands and standing there listening to a solo that went 4 minutes too long.  A few sprinkled in are fine.

2:45 is solid.  I think part of it is that they played some longer songs which is why the setlist is shorter yet time wise they were on par.
