I guess the days of 30 songs are over. I thought maybe the 2021 shows were shorter due to the festivals but now i'm concerned.

They played for two hours and 44 minutes on the first night of a tour after being away for most of the last three years. What is it you’re “concerned” about?

Concerned that we are in for shorter shows going forward. I don't care how long they were on stage for, 23 songs is a short Pearl Jam show.

This may surprise you but you’re not actually entitled to a certain number of songs per show. You can always just not go if the setlists start falling short of your criteria.

Where did I state I was entitled to a certain amount of songs per show or that I was not going to attend because the shows are a little shorter than in previous years?

Take a chill pill. Eddie isn't going to send you a love letter for being the great super defender on the message board.

Oh I actually think the new record stinks and am a little bummed it takes up a third of the set but I also understand that’s the way it works, the same way five dudes in their mid/late 50s might not play a 30 song show the first night back. Definitely wouldn’t say I’m “concerned” but that’s just me.

Apparently the traffic sucked if you were showing up around 730-8PM. I got there around 6:50 and it was fine. Ed came out and did a song solo and then introduced Josh who did 6 songs or about 30 min. It looked like they were ready to come out at 8:30 but didn’t start until 8:50.

Ed was super chatty, has all his family plus guitar teacher, Bill Walton in the crowd. Had to be at least 15-20 minutes of stories etc. Sounded like the band is in a strict “Covid Bubble” and can’t interact with family and friends to prevent cancelations this tour.

Gigaton songs were great live and Ed seemed excited to play them. It was a very solid show for an opener and I imagine the set lists get longer by the show.

All y'all complaining about the number of songs they played have no idea that Eddie probably talked 20 minutes telling various stories with his friends and family at the show...

2 hrs and 44 minutes is a long show.  Little surprised they did not come back out for YL or Indifference but that would put it at almost 3 hours which is quite long.  Not complaining though and it wont keep me from going just because they did not end with YL or Indifference.

The shows last year were shorter as well. Concerned may be a strong word and you may also be overreacting to it's use. Perhaps disappointed may have been a better choice.

Too bad you don't enjoy Gigaton, I look forward to hearing the songs live in September.

If the Earthlings shows are any indication. It might be this way. But it's only the first show. And it's still a great show.
