Is it because these shows were announced before PJ went Premium, or because of laws in those countries against this type of practice? Perhaps our international members know the answer. We can let the band and media outlets know we don't like PJ Premium, on this forum and social media. We can also call the U.S. Representatives in our respective districts, and share our displeasure with TM's monopolistic practices. Some outlets, like John Oliver, are taking notice. But government action is what is actually needed, to enforce anti-trust laws and break up TM.
Yep and it has been reviewed the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. If you recall, TM settled the FTC case and gave vouchers out. I do not remember how much exactly, but ticket buyers received a small dollar voucher for every ticket they bought in the past I think I received about 20 of them. In typical TM fashion, none of the vouchers worked for any show or sporting event I wanted to attend and they went unused. I would guess the same for anyone else that received them. TM up to their same old tricks.
EDIT: Good point about Europe. Thanks for giving me a new question to investigate!
I managed to use a few, but usually when buying tix you're in a rush and afterwards remember the vouchers.
They got off real easy on that one and I'd venture a majority of vouchers issued were never claimed.
Yep. Badass lawyers vs. the US government. And yet every one is blaming the band. TM and Pearl Jam have been in a constant compromise since 96. We will give you your 10C tix because we know we will make a ton of money on the remaining tix to any shows. 2003 was the breakthrough when the band managed to secure a large block of tickets at MSG. Since then it is a love hate relationship. Same as it ever was except the acquisitions of any competitor and the evolution of the digital age has allowed TM to really have a monopoly and squeeze the fans. My guess is that the band hates it, wishes they could do something about it, but they make a good living and really only care about securing 10C tix and playing live for their fans.0 -

They periodically sent me emails, "don't forget to use your vouchers." I never used them, because they were never for anything I wanted to see. Hardly seems like punishment, when they're making extra money on shows no one wants to go to.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.0 -
Yup, I had a ton of those vouchers and never used a single one. Such a joke.

My grandfather was an ER doctor and had a short stint in NYC back in 1964. He would tell stories about the crazy stuff he saw there. One of them he mentioned was some college kid with a Columbia university shirt that came in with a broken elbow. My grandfather asked him how he broke his elbow. Did he fall down the stairs? Nope, the kid said he jumped into the crowd from the stage at a Duke Ellington show and nobody caught him. It was May and the kid said he was going to look stupid with a cast at his first job having just graduated. Kid said he should have know better jumping off a stage since it was New York.Post edited by bootlegger10 on0 -

Yes its real plus this https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/pearl-jam-bushleaguer-live-boos-973439/amp/
the one and only time pearl jam was booed off stage by their own fans. Got to love New Yorkers. They live in a democratic controlled city but then are so offended by bushleager an anti republican anti war song gets their panties in a bunch so badly that they feel the need to boo them off the stage. . It was so bad mike and jeff asked eddie to never play that song again in fear of thier safety getting the fuck out of their. Good thing he didnt listen to them cause when they played it again at bill graham auditorium in sf that same year the crowd went nuts. New Yorkers are a strange bunch. not suprised by the ticket prices at msg new yorkers are paying that asshole tax mark up to see them. There is No love lost by the band. They remember all that shit. You guys are lucky they are even playing therePost edited by Getoutofmyfuckinface on0 -

It’s real. NY actually has a law against catching stage divers.1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh0
