I'm willing to bet the clear stock is the 20k any represses will be black.

Honestly cant believe that number. That seems really high.
The Dead puts out numbers like that.

Anything in the 5K range if you do a little hustle is obtainable.
I'd say a few bands aside (PJ being one of them) I agree. But in this case, 20k should make this not that hard to come by.

That is a huge number for RSD.
Its RSD first - meaning it is not limited to RSD - so they'll likely have this batch out for that date and keep printing like they are doing with Easy Street
The way things are, there are very few records they are able to keep pressing. I imagine Easy Street only ever got a 2nd pressing which has hung around in stores for ages now. Stuff like Appetite for Destruction, Nevermind, Rumours stuff like that probably gets pressed every couple of years due to constant demand.

I guess with it being RSD first it means they could press more if there was enough demand.

Its a big number which you would think will satisfy the masses although it seems too high IMO. I wouldnt count on this being pressed again any time soon after RSD either. They cant even get new records out on time these days.
I remember watching a YouTube video by Chad Kassem from Acoustic Sounds basically saying if you want a record, you should buy it sooner rather than later cause it might be 3 - 4 years if it’s pressed again.
There were new Crowded House albums that were going for $15 - $25 a few years ago that you can’t even find now and who knows if and when they’ll be pressed again.
I usually buy in the first couple of months to make sure I get the condition I want. After a year or so, records start to get a little beat up presumably from getting moved around in stock rooms etc. Its definitely an idea to keep an eye on stuff that you havent quite got around to buying. As soon as stuff starts to sell out and no restock it vanishes everywhere really quickly.  Its also a good time to buy records knowing that its going to fetch a lot more very soon. Theres loads of records Ive picked up for £10 - £15, usually new albums with no variants that have been reduced. As soon as they sell out you are lucky to get them much under £70.

    From the RSD website….

“ We’re also being proactive with designating an RSD Drops date on June 18. That will serve as a street date safety net, for titles that are part of the Record Store Day celebration, but for any number of reasons beyond controlling, can’t make it into stores on April 23. The List includes titles that are coming to record stores on Record Store Day in April and those that will be coming in June. As we become aware of issues for any specific title, that title will move to the RSD Drops date and you’ll see that on the List on the website”

So either Banquet Records have advance knowledge of a delay already (unlikely) or they’re just covering all bases and managing expectations.

It also says further down on banquet’s page that the vinyl is expected on 18th June. A little sloppy by them but looks like we’ll have to wait a little while for this one.

To be fair, I’m sure they’re in the dark just as much as we are.  RSD historically haven’t been running a very tight ship and the pressing plant delays only add to their woes.   I’m sure things will get clearer and the listings get updated as the days and weeks go by!

Thanks - interesting.   We went through the same confusion with the Alive single last year and I’m pretty sure that ended up dropping on the later of the two possible dates for both the US and Europe.   Guess we’ll see!

    "crystal" doesn't fit the design.

Not much thought likely. lots of clear raw material I guess. Would be wild if they could press picks in there. Would skip like crazy.

The largest (or rather only) record store chain in Finland Is also saying that the release date is in April: https://www.recordshopx.com/artist/pearl_jam/live_on_two_legs_crystal_clear_vinyl/

I remember some other RSD titles (like Dinosaur Jr live album) dropping in Europe during earlier RSD day than the US.  But you never know.

I hope you're right, but I'm not so sure. Did we ever get a number on the purple Ten?

I'm not so sure.  The unplugged pressing was pretty big, and it still needed a repressing.    I know Lo2L is different, but it's a pretty good live album that is a rare find on vinyl.  I don't think they'll have that much of an issues selling 20000 copies.

Sometimes I like standing in line for RSD. I end up talking to people and buying RSD releases that I wouldn't normally have gotten due to their telling me more about them. Of course, that means I end up spending more money than planned - but doesn't that always happen anyway?
