One of these days I'll track down an affordable Ed Batmobile from '08 was too busy getting to my seat!
I broke down and bought mine off Ninersfan on eBay back in the day.
Was the enigma of Ninersfan ever confronted? Was he on expressobeans? On FB? Are they still around?
No idea... just that mythical phone video of him at MSG with armfuls of merch. Like some kind of Pearl Jam Zapruder film we dissected that thing endlessly at the time.
Fun fact. I was at Seattle and Tsurt kicked a guy out for buying so much stuff, lol.. Everybody clapped. There was so much stuff though it wouldn't have made a dent.

I remember looking down at the tent with the snaked line as we drove in from the airport. You could see it from the highway. The uber driver didn't really believe us I don't think when we told him what it was.

A learning experience, but still unacceptable imo. I'd pleasently return that one too. "Sorry but this one arrived damaged too..." Maybe ask for s/d discount. It shouldn't arrive like that. If it was packed right and a corner got a little bent. Ok. Not this though.

I’d for sure make her aware of the damage, and mention how it was rolled in paper that was too short to protect the edges of the print. It’s good for people to learn from their mistakes.
I (and I know others) asked her nicely, prior to shipping out replacements, to please roll the print in Kraft paper with a couple of extra inches on each side to protect it. (in addition to asking for a wider tube, having it signed and numbered, etc.) She seemed to ignore that request about the Kraft paper. My replacement is still on the way, so will see how mine turns out.

Wow! I asked for a replacement or refund. It's unfortunate but I don't think I should have to accept a damaged poster when it probably could have been prevented.

She’s presenting this on Twitter as if she has the option not to offer a refund. But the reality is that she has to provide a refund through PayPal because it arrived damaged.
I’m sure she’s a nice person and she is a really good artist. But if she’s going to continue to do gig posters then she needs to improve her shipping methods and customer service.

It’s interesting to me that she doesn’t seem to understand the value of a mint condition poster
I don’t think it helps that she’s getting a lot of enabling advice in her Twitter feed… like people telling her the damage wouldn’t be visible once it’s framed.
But this is my favorite comment 🤦🏻♂️:

This person needs their social media privilege's revoked.
As nice as the poster is, the truth is there are hundreds of other great artists that would kill for chance to design a show poster for EV. If she messed up, just make it right and learn from this for the next one. Unfortunately, the way she’s handing this on social media means the next one may not happen at all.

I saw those kind of comments too. Friends basically telling her the damage is acceptable. She needs to take her advice from her colleagues, such as other gig poster artists who have been doing it longer, rather than from friends. I just recently got a Tool poster for an artist that was a little dinged up, due to short kraft paper. He admitted that the damage was due to the packaging and not the carrier, and offered the option to return it for a full refund, or keep it with a fair discount.
Other artists have done the same in the past when it comes to dinged edges/corners. Discount and keep it, or return for a full refund.
Its simple, butt hurt don't work in business. You cant ever publicly appear unprofessional. 1x sure. X times, you wont get work. Dont matter what it is you do.
emailed her twice this week since receiving my unsigned bent up poster on Tuesday and still no response. This was a mistake, ..and to think I thought was one of the lucky 100.
Perhaps the wrinkled posters are part of her artistic concept...each poster is unique like a snowflake in a way that there are creases and dents so no two are alike.
Really, though, I cannot understand in the slightest how someone selling any product would be OK with selling something that they damaged. It would be like selling a board game at a garage sale for retail, but without any of the pieces included.
Good artist. I just would have liked if she had learned the lessons about the major league world of prints and moved on from there. The PJ level is not the same as making prints or flyers for an indie band. If she gets jobs for other major bands (and I’m sure she will. She’s talented) there will be the same expectations.
I’m sure some folks were overly rude and irate but most were not (according to her). It’s just a different league of print sales. These things are fine art to people and investments to some as well. Belittling customers because they want your artwork to be in mint condition is not a smart move. Puzzled by how this whole thing keeps going.
