Yeah would be great if there was something in Chicago to pine over getting into. But maybe there will be listening parties at record stores on or around release day, feels like those are becoming more common again (Green Day had a couple with giveaways, contests last weekend at a couple shops here)

This rumor has been misconstrued. There's not going to be a song called "Dark Matter." Pearl Jam will actually be publishing a paper in an astrophysical journal documenting the first direct detection of dark matter, the heretofore unobserved mass that holds the universe together.
The weirdest thing about clout chasers is the grab for attention when they have nothing to back it up with. Like, it's okay to be excited!
But why lie?? Just be happy when new stuff comes out, or if a surprise city is announced for part of a tour.
I guarantee there are people on here who have heard some stuff from the new record.
And those people? They don't post about it.
They have trust & they don't betray that trust. They just have that moment & the memory of it.
In the meantime, just have fun without lying. Just being with your brethren at a show. Just go with it
