    Oh and for the record I loved the first Warrant album and hated the 2nd.  The cheese factor got turnt up to 12 on that one...

    Tempo, I don't doubt you've heard people call Maiden hair metal, I've just never heard that personally. And I used to be a down in the dirt metal head and still hang out with many. How can a band with a mascot like Eddie be called hair metal?

    I always found it odd when I would see Blind Melon get lumped in with grunge. I mean, seriously, put them next to Mudhoney and tell me they are in the same universe musically. Blind Melon is neo-hippie music (and I love it). People (and marketing executives) just have this insatiable need to classify everything. which is how we got to PJ and STP and Pumpkins being grunge in the first place. all about marketing. 

    it's funny about Creed. the first time I saw them live it was at a festival. They had one or two of their first singles out, so they were popular, but still couldn't justify main stage. They were in the afternoon on the side stage; Scott Stapp was in full Seattle garb: flannel, doc martens, holding the mic like Ed and swaying back and forth like he used to do. The radio host the next morning went on a rant and ripped into him as a terrible Eddie impersonator (and this station was the presenter of the festival). 
    The flannel and Doc martin thing we did in NY long before Seattle was a thought.  I wonder if it was just a bigger city thing?  We listened to Hardcore and Metal which is where that 90's sound gets it's roots from.

    That's funny about Stapp.  now I see why the rumor started.
