    Oh, it is exactly what you would expect. Salads, veggies, chicken, fish, lean meats, no processed crap. etc. etc. 
    Basically what every healthy person on the planet eats. 
    And basically everything I wasnt eating! hahahahahahaha

    I have done SO MUCH research the last 2 months on recovery, life expectancy, the entire healing process of a heart attack, what happens when you suffer cardiac arrest, and the healing process of that. It's pretty damned terrifying when you look at the cardiac arrest facts and figures. I truly am a very lucky man to still be here chatting with you folks. 

    I am thinking it's going to take another 6 months to really get back to almost normal. But I have certainly taken big steps in the last 60 days. 
    my father in law had a massive heart attack at age 44. he had 3 more since (but not in the last 20 or so years). he's 83 and still ticking, going to the gym, eating right, etc. 

    I need to follow you on this path (skipping the heart attack part, of course). Down 30 lbs so far in the last couple months (all I did was quit drinking and snacking in the evening). Many, many more to go. 
    I was told I dropped 15lbs in the last 2 months. But that 1st month I really wasn't getting much exercise or movement at all. So hopefully the weight starts coming off a little faster. But like the doctor said, it took me 56 years to get in this shape, it's going to take time to get into better shape. 

    Those 1st few weeks were mentally and physically draining. My entire body was in shock.

    It's gotta be tough making good food choices out on the road. I worked at a truck stop for many years. 98% of the guys were super obese. and no wonder....our menu didn't exactly scream "vegetarian" or "lean meats". we served a fucking hamburger steak (three 8 oz patties smashed together into one giant burger) and eggs breakfast FFS. 
    Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall

    Yes sir. And I have spent 2 months saying and thinking "WHY ME? " 
    I have seen hundreds and thousands of truck drivers in a lot worse shape than me! Why the fuck am I the guy who drops dead!!!! 

    But its more than just the shitty diet. It's the fact that we all sit on our asses for 10-12 hours a day driving. Then sleep for as much as possible. There is just no physical activity in our lifestyle.

    Congrats on passing the physical!! I am sure that was a relief. Keep up the good work with the diet and exercise. It sucks at first, but then just becomes part of your lifestyle to the point where eating something unhealthy isn't even appealing anymore.

    Both quarterbacks have kind of Cinderella stories….but that QB from the bengals is pretty awesome.  I’m hoping it goes to Cincinnati.

    Way to go, Speedy! From one 56yr-old to another, these life changes can be a blessing. 

    I bet your bride and my husband are happy to have us around for hopefully a good long while.

    Glad to hear you are cleared to go back to work, means you are getting healthy, which is great.  The wife and I changed our eating habits a few years back, do a lot of exercise, including long hikes in the woods, I managed to drop about 20 pounds, she dropped about 35.  We want to be healthy to enjoy the future so I think you are on the right path there!  

    Your medical bills remind me of my skateboarder son who over the years has managed to dislocate both elbows at about $20k each and a ruptured spleen that was about $84k.  Luckily insurance covered most of that, but yes, I was the one going into shock with those bills coming in.
