For sure. But I don't think they'll do it today. There are a lot of crossover fans (and venues). I'm thinking we might not know until after the EV tour has concluded. So, 3 weeks or so.

My thoughts too. What has been the announcement tandem in years past with EV solo tours and PJ tours? 2011, 2008, who wants to investigate!?

Pearl Jam, management, promoter....none of them care about crossover fans. If DMB or Foos or whoever plays the same night as Pearl Jam but 2000 miles away...wamp-fucking-wamp.

2,000 miles away? Sure. But having any of those bands, or their peers play within a one-hour radius on the same night? That would be stupid. Astronomically stupid. Because that cuts down on the bottom line: trying to sell out the venue, and sell as much merch, food & beverages as possible. So, yes all of these bands & promoters absolutely care about the logistics of their tours, even if it's just from a business stand point. And even though they're not all best buddies, they do watch each other's tour schedules, comepte for spots, and share information on the reg.

Haven't updated the thread since Baltimore was confirmed as cancelled, but I think that's going to be how they cram all the 2020 make up shows into one month. And then we'll have ballparks & a few old faves (possibly some new) for the fall. Gonna start draft #6 now, lol.

Just FYI. You cannot tell what dates at an arena are open by looking at the public events calendar. There could be holds by other artists, there could be rentals for other purposes (a commercial shoot for example), or the venue may be blocked off for some other production issue on particular days. None of which appear on the public calendar.
^I'm aware. And while that can be a factor, I'm just using publicly available data for a best guess. Very in flux, very volatile. But at the VERY least, I try to help satiate the hunger for more shows by having clearer paths.

Not sure if this was mentioned but Ed on the Smartless podcast said that "some" US Dates should be announced soon if they haven't been announced already. They will get some US shows in prior to heading to Europe.... take it for what it's worth but at least to all of the worry warts... shows will be announced soon.

Hopefully today is Phish tour announcement, then Pearl Jam.
It's been almost 2 full years since 2020 got cancelled.
I think I saw 11 Phish shows last year.
I get the feeling that Pearl Jam simply isn't as interested in touring as they used to be, perhaps mixed with a more cautious view of Covid than pretty much any other band (DMB, Phish, Tool, NIN, etc all toured last year and/or have announced upcoming dates).

How many of those Phish shows were outside? Aren't most DMB shows outside?

They said at SHN (and in various interviews) that they love playing live, but so many factors are in play here. They had roughly 50 family members at Ohana between the 6 (Boom) of them. No one wants that Ric Flair/Cats in the Cradle rep.
They also have a rep for being extra cautious & safe in all things since Roskilde. None of those other bands have ever experienced that level of tragedy, and had it kind of looming over their performance. PJ still does. At SHN & Ohana, they stopped mid-song to make sure someone was okay.
Tool is in a weird place because they play the same set 80% of the time, and another set w/Sober the other 20%. They rarely commission new art for posters, as well. Hell, they picked a Frank Frazetta piece for Orlando. I think they're close to being done.
DMB were a little too cavalier last year, and they paid for it. At least 3 band members came down with Covid, and while they made for interesting shows, Carter, Rashawn Ross & Jeff Coffin are high risk. They got through it, but the whole band was rattled.
I see PJ doing little jaunts here & there, no more than 12 cities at a time. They don't need 100 date tours anymore, let alone half that. They will pick their spots, listen to their bodies, their hearts & their conscience (and most of all eachother), We're lucky to still have them around at all

Taking a slightly different approach. Going to focus on probability & availability at venues to better map the tour. Using public info, and bits from the rumor thread, here's what I've got (after a few cancellations). If the rumor thread bits are true, we'll see a quick west coast jaunt, then off to Europe, with the rest of the dates being rescheduled for the fall (fingers crossed on a few ballparks). Bold indicates my best guess.
Leg I, Version 1 - North to South, Heading East
The Cali-ball Run
1. Oakland I - Tue. 05/03 or Wed. 05/04 (2020 make-up date; likely dates: 05/03, 05/04, 05/05, 05/07, 05/08, 05/09, 05/10, 05/11 - Sir Paul is 05/06)
- San Jose is open Fri. 05/06 (2022 new date; likely dates: 05/05, 05/06, 05/08, 05/09, 05/10, 05/11) - Fresno is open Sat. 05/07(2022 new date; likely dates: 05/05, 05/07, 05/08, 05/09, 05/10, 05/11 - seems more likely since ASM Global runs the arena)
4. Los Angeles I - Mon. 05/09 (2020 make-up show; likely dates: 05/09, 05/10, 05/11 - Patti Labelle on 05/08)
5. Los Angeles II - Tue. 05/10 (2020 make-up show; likely dates: 05/10, 05/11, 05/12 - again, they won't go head to head with Sir Paul. He plays So-Fi on 05/13)
6. San Diego - Thu. 05/12 (2020 make-up show; likely dates: 05/12, 05/16, 05/17 - SDSU graduation 05/13-05/15)
7.possible added show: Las Vegas I - Sat. 05/14, T-Mobile Arena?
8.possible added show: Las Vegas II - Sun. 05/15, T-Mobile Arena?
- Las Vegas, NV (from my 5th draft on page 3) possible venues:
T-Mobile Arena (the reliable choice, as long as they check vaccine status) 20,000 (likely dates: 05/11, 05/12, 05/14, 05/15, 05/16, 05/17, 05/18, 05/19, 05/20)
Cashman Field (baseball, Jerry Cantrell & Metallica played there in '98) 12,500 (likely dates: 05/11, 05/12, 05/13, 05/15, 05/16, 05/17, 05/18, 05/19, 05/20)
Michelob Ultra Arena (UFC) 12,000 (baseball, Jerry Cantrell & Metallica played there in '98) 12,500 (likely dates: 05/11, 05/12, 05/13, 05/15, 05/16, 05/17, 05/18, 05/19, 05/20 - 05/14 is Snoop Dogg)
10. Albuquerque, NM - Thu. 05/19? (room for new 2022 date, voter reg. initiative)
- - possible venues:
Isleta Amphitheater, Albuquerque, NM (the Foo Fighters played there this year, and their poster is SICK) 15,000 (likely dates: all of May)
Isotopes Park, Albuquerque, NM (just the fact that there's a Simpsons statue makes this place a worthy contender) 13,500 (likely dates: 05/16, 05/17, 05/18, 05/19, 05/20, 05/21)
*11. Denver, CO - Sat. 05/21 (2020 make-up show; likely dates: 05/21, 05/22, 05/23, 05/24 - tacking this on here, but also going to include it in my Fall Leg II just in case. Plausible that they would go here straight from Phoenix as well.)
OR
Leg I, Version 2 - Risin' Up, Still Heading East (leaving the dates open, because so much is in flux)
2. Los Angeles I (2020 make-up show; likely dates: 05/09, 05/10, 05/11 - Patti Labelle on 05/08)
3. Los Angeles II (2020
make-up show; likely dates: 05/10, 05/11, 05/12 - again, they won't go
head to head with Sir Paul. He plays So-Fi on 05/13)
4.possible added show: San Jose, or Fresno??
- San Jose (2022 new date; likely dates: 05/11, 05/12. 05/13, 05/15) - Fresno (2022 new date; likely dates: 05/11, 05/12, 05/13, 05/14 - seems more likely since ASM Global runs the arena ,and if the order is wrong, Fresno could be on the way to Vegas)
*11. Denver, CO - Sat. 05/21 (2020
make-up show; likely dates: 05/23, 05/24, 05/25, 05/26 - tacking this
on here, but also going to include it in my Fall Leg II just in case.
Plausible that they would go here straight from Phoenix as well.)
One way or the other, I imagine they'll take a short break, and head off to Europe. I'll be working on the Fall Leg (weaving in some of my old ballpark proposals )
Thoughts?

I think it would be unlikely for them to play San Jose so close to playing Oakland If I remember there were still tickets available for one if not both Oakland shows in 2020. Fresno is a possibility though if they want something part way from So Cal to Nor Cal.

I'm leaning that way, too. But I put San Jose there just in case (hell, I almost put Santa Barbara Bowl!) The arena in Fresno is run by ASM Global, and a good chunk (the majority?) of make-up shows are at ASM venues. I figure that might help make up some revenue for the Baltimore show. Might make for a good, loose show! But I could be wrong. Could just be the make-ups, plus Vegas. We'll know soon enough!

They will pick their spots, listen to their bodies, their hearts & their conscience (and most of all eachother), We're lucky to still have them around at all
I completely agree with all you said about PJ taking it safe. In Cincinnati 2014, there was a minor issue with fans all trying to get in the main entrance (where the tragedy with The Who fans was) and PJ delayed going on the stage for maybe 20 minutes or so until everyone was in.
In the show, we got Love Boat Captain (probably not a coincidence) and then Eddie mentioned how The Who reached out to them after Roskilde and drew parallels between the two bands. PJ then played The Real Me which, as Eddie put it, "was the last song they played that night" being The Who in Cincinnati.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"

Yep! DMB 2022 tour dates blow my mind!
Pearl Jam, management, promoter....none of them care about crossover fans. If DMB or Foos or whoever plays the same night as Pearl Jam but 2000 miles away...wamp-fucking-wamp.
