what would happen if we can get a trans person to do ads for guns? would that maybe make some of these gun people not want to buy that particular gun? like what if smith and wesson went woke?

it has had that impact on beer, why not try it with guns?
I read something the other day that said a large percentage of gun sales over the last couple years have been made by women and minorities.

    Check this out....

KY law requires that the gun used in the shooting must be auctioned off.  Complete bullshit.  Should be destroyed.

Follow the Japanese model.  Limited gun shops with very strict screening. Harsh penalties for holding a gun. The gangsters and the police in Japan do not carry guns. It is not complicated. Get rid of the guns.

How do you do that without creating massive civil unrest?

the civil unrest is going to happen no matter what happens. even if our government does the same thing it always does, which is nothing. might as well get it overwith sooner than later. something has to change soon.

Enforce the rules. We already have civil unrest. Just do it without the guns.

This would be WAY more difficult than it sounds. These aren’t rational Australians we’re talking about. This is people treating a document written 200+ years ago by drunk men in drag as the holy gospel. It’s a living document with amendments but it’s not ammendable!

Should we change the thread title to "Mass shooting of the day, USA"?

Four people killed and multiple others injured in Alabama shooting

Incident happened at about 10.30pm Saturday night at a 16th birthday party in Dadeville, according to a local news station

Four people were killed in a shooting in east Alabama on Saturday night and multiple people left injured, police said.

WRBL, a local news station, reported that the shooting happened at about 10.30pm Saturday night at a 16th birthday party in Dadeville, about 50 miles north-east of Montgomery.

Pastor Ben Hayes, who serves as the chaplain for the Dadeville police department and for the local high school football team, said most of the victims are teenagers . He said the shooting has rocked the small town where serious crime is rare.

“One of the young men that was killed was one of our star athletes and just a great guy. So I knew many of these students. Dadeville is a small town and this is going to affect everybody in this area,” Hayes said.

It was not immediately known if a suspect was in custody.

The US has suffered at least 162 mass shootings in the first 15 weeks of 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. That’s an average of more than 1.5 mass shootings every day so far this year.

I was so encouraged by the student turnout in Wisconsin state SC vote then I see this. I’m going to try to stay optimistic hoping the twenty somethings will handle all things necessary that’s wrong.

Regarding the Ralph Yarl shooting, NT Times reported:
"The homeowner who shot him [Ralph Yarl], Andrew D. Lester, 85, was taken into custody by the police for 24 hours then released without charges on Friday."

My first thought, of course, was, "What the actual fuck?"
This shit is getting so far out there it's insane.

I read about that yesterday… he was released because they couldn’t get a victim statement or something to that effect. Meanwhile they couldn’t get a statement because the kid had been shot in the f’ing head. Nice to hear he’s since been charged.

What a shit hole country we live in.

Yeah, it's getting down right depressing to see how deep into the shitter so much of this country has gone.  Sure could use to see things turn around somehow.

The Missouri guy is getting off. It’s a stand your ground state.  The New York guy might actually pay for what he did.

If you’re referencing the woman in the wrong driveway, that was Washington State I believe.

These stand your ground laws are f’ing crazy & only going to result in more senseless deaths.

So both shooters were old white guys. Many such people have been told for decades that there’s danger at every turn.  We’re being conditioned for this. I’m certainly going to do what I can to not turn around in driveways or knock on doors of people I don’t know.

Nowhere in this country looks like much fun anymore to me. Politics aside honestly. Wtf is going on in Chicago? What is happening to humanity? Humans are devolving  all over the country regardless of politics , race, gender. I don’t know if it’s more in our face than ever because of social media but damn.
