I was all over the puzzles and two bags of the pins (I think they would make cool golf ball markers) until I got to the shipping screen. No way it costs $37 to ship. I'm fine paying reasonable shipping charges (a medium USPS flat rate box is less than $16 and can be as heavy as it wants), but that's just gouging IMO.
Yeah.....those shipping figures can't be correct. I'm really hoping someone fat-fingered a weight or measurement on these puzzles somewhere on the back end of setting these up for the sale. It can't cost $30 to ship a puzzle. It's already boxed as it is and can't weigh more than 2 lbs.
it says 4lbs on the puzzle.....I'm guessing .5lb if that
They go by weight of the package or box size which is why it’s a 4lb weight on it.
but how much could the box possibly weigh? No way one puzzle and box is more than 1lb
It’s not necessarily the weight of the box, but the size. For instance if you had a giant box that only weighed 1lb the size of the box would determine weight.
I would have loved to do these puzzles and frame them, but $30 is already steep for a 500-piece puzzle and then the $29 shipping on top of that....no way!
Compared to other shipping charges it seems like a bargain. I am going to give Jeff's album a listen on the XM show before I buy commit to buying it. The cost of the album is inline with what other albums cost, but $11.45 to ship it seems crazy. I did it for Unplugged and for a couple of other albums, but I am just not sure if I am going to for this one.

Hahahaha a shipping charge that is 65% of the value of the item is a bargain!!!

Sorry, forgot the sarcasm font. It has been a long day.
Shipping has gone up in the USA. It’s not just Pearl Jam. A first class envelope to ship a trading card is $4.00. So a larger sized and heavier puzzle is proportionally within reason I believe. I don’t like it, but it is.

Unfortunately the value of good has very little to do with the cost of shipping it? You could mail a rock which is free but given it's size and weight would cost a fair bit to ship.
In all seriousness, it's somewhat amusing to watch Americans complain about shipping costs, when as a Canadian we've been dealing with expensive shipping from the US for our whole lives. We're kind of numb to it at this point :( So many cool things come out that you can't buy in Canada that you have to pay for shipping on.. sigh :(

Nah I knew you were being sarcastic. I wasn’t laughing at you...I was laughing with you.
If the workers at UPS, USPS, FedEx et al receive a very comfortable living wage and full benefits I have no problem paying increased shipping costs. However, my gut tells me the money goes to executives in huge bonuses and shareholders in the form of increased dividends. The company I work for was bought by a huge American outfit six years ago and the raises have become minuscule. Every collective bargaining agreement negotiation has become worse than the previous one. Wage increases not keeping up with inflation kind of BS.
But this is what you get from companies in a nation with below the poverty line minimum wages, no paid vacation, no paid maternity leave. The lowest worker rights and benefits in the developed world.
