I think we’ve known for awhile that Eddie isn’t who keeps them from touring more.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

No doubt about that. Eddie will perform in one way or another until he physically can’t due to age or whatever.

with the entire spring & summer in front of them...if they reschedule an indoor arena tour to anywhere even close to late fall / early winter / travel holidays - knowing what we all now know about "covid season", and considering the band's apparent conservative views on playing shows during this pandemic - it would be the definition of insanity.
On the Forum LA website, there are several open dates between May 6th and 20th. Maybe they can start the tour from the west coast...

I got a feeling they’ll reverse the tour and go from west to east this time. It would give us here in Canada a month longer see numbers drop and ease necessary restrictions.

If the tour were to go in reverse order, the Oakland Arena appears to be available May 2-13, the LA Forum (as mentioned) has openings between May 6-20, and Viejas Arena in SD is pretty much available during the entire month of May.

No way Canada is in May so maybe the date is not set yet. I am hoping it all gets announced at once and soon but maybe the fall is "pencilled" in at the moment and we wont hear about that until July.
as a holder for TO, HAM and OTT i'm optimistic you're wrong. I think they would have tried to redo in somewhat the original route, and dates were likely penciled back when Canadian arenas were having full capacity NHL games. And I think will hold off announcing as long as possible to make sure can still stick to that. And I have no issue waiting...

Also, if they do it in reverse order they can fly from Toronto/ Hamilton straight to Europe.
That make more sense them flying from Seattle, to Toronto , work their way back to the California, then fly back to the east coast , then to Europe.

The reason for the PJ tour announcement delay is because they want the focus on Eddie’s new album and tour. Not that hard to understand.
Could be. I think the band just likes as much flexibility as possible and to be able to pull a tour right up to the point of no return. I bet Europe wouldn't be rescheduled if it weren't for the festivals. They've always waited as long as possible to announce something.
Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what'll happen this year, but selfishly, as a ticketholder to the three Ontario shows, I'm optimistic we'll be getting a tour here sooner rather than later. Capacity restrictions are currently scheduled to end March 14, and based on current data, there's reason to think that'll happen. Our population's been heavily vaccinated. It's been a long two years. It'd be awesome having these gigs to look forward to! (Although having tickets to all four of the Hold Steady's Constructive Summer shows is pretty great, as well!)

Was quietly hoping for something today. Starting to think you’re all right about Ed’s tour having to end first. This really is the perfect time to drop dates…not to get into COVID but cases in the US are dropping sharply. Hospitalizations are starting to go down, expect the sharp decrease in a few weeks. April and May look like perfect timing to start touring

With some amount of availability for Ed’s shows, it makes sense that they don’t want to make it harder to sell those remaining seats by dropping more Pearl Jam shows on the market.

This makes more sense now, after seeing someone post a setlist for the Ed show in a different band's forum and people replied thinking it was a Pearl Jam setlist.
DJ on WPLR last night said Pearl Jam at MSG for March 30. Anyone else hear that? Plus the Apollo show also rebooked (I forget what day he said for that maybe 28th).

Pretty clear that the reason there hasn't been an announcement about he rescheduled US dates has nothing to do with Covid.
