portland doesnt have a very large outdoor or indoor venue, but it'd be super cool.   now if they did a festival type of thing at the old AF base that Phish played at generations ago in Limestone, that would be awesome

whatever the old cumberland county civic center is called now in Portland, would be great..  small, probably 8-10k capacity, but that's the arena tour size i'd love to see

If they actually played there, no reason they couldn't play in Manchester, NH. The acoustics are terrible in the arena, but we do have a similarly-sized ball park.

I wonder if the upcoming announcement might include the Fall leg info as well.  If the Maine teaser is true, I would guess it's in the Fall.  But then again everything is up in the air at this point.
I think it will. I think it will be shows in May and Fall tour and possibly Baseball stadium shows if those are happening

It is looking like Canada is starting to get some arena shows booked again with some tours being announced. Lets get those dates!

Is the long-awaited, some say mythical, New England tour about to happen?
Before the postponement happened in 2020 due to Covid. There was a bunch of rumors flying around about New England dates in fall of 2020z I definitely think it’s possible

Greta Van Fleet just announced a huge tour in the fall with Canada dates.
  • Gotta think the announcement is next week, tues or wed, so they can talk about it in the newsletter on the 10th, and so everyone in Canada will miss out on the cheap airfare deals that are on right now.

Probably already been discussed, but could the possible delay of the MLB season have something to do with delay in the tour announcement?  If season is delayed it could affect teams schedule which in turn could affect the dates that PJ could possibly have booked at stadiums.  Or maybe I'm just mad at the MLB owners and looking to blame the lack of tour announcement on them.

I think the dates for concerts are baked in - a bunch of bands have already made announcements. If games have to be moved around, it'll be around the shows.

Yup, exactly. Venues and promoters won’t wait for a deal that may not happen for a while.

Can't see it, it's like the discussion about delays with nhl playoff scheduling - arenas turn around from hockey/basketball to events in a matter of hours and always have hold days in place, mlb stadiums gotta be the same, although typically takes 3-4 days of setup compared to how quick an arena goes. (https://artistwaves.com/how-mlb-ballparks-turn-into-magical-concert-venues/).

If the previous intel is correct, PJ already has holds in place for MSG in May and the fall (be madison square and the beacon as msg runs both), and if they had holds in place for those venues, then I'm sure they have holds everywhere else and the tour plotted out. Covid restrictions have dropped most places, including the Canadian venues back to full capacity now, the 'covid insurance' issue with touring isn't as painful as it was in 2020. Only reasonable explanation is the delay being all about sales and marketing contracts, or a band member holding out, or trying to add some more shows and announce everything at once.

Guys lets stay focused here. It is Canada's fault because of the delay in the announcement!

Yeah, those dudes need to tour to keep an income going. PJ on the other hand, does not.

  • Portland is a great place to see a show. The National was the last for me there a few yrs back. Thompson's Point would be an amazing outdoor venue, but too small by their standards now...
That was an incredible show and it’s an awesome venue.

Actually, Pearl Jam does need to tour because they sold tickets to shows two years ago.

Agreed, but this is income received two years ago, so the service needs to be rendered.  If they don't want or need the income from touring going forward, that's a different story.  They can turn it off anytime they wish.

I don't disagree, but it isn't what I necessarily meant. This whole so and so is touring, PJ need to tour logic is what I was speaking to.

Dimi on FB said no texas shows added.  But said the announcement is immanent!  Said “no” when someone said 2 weeks?  I assume that means less.  The next week prediction seems solid!
