It’s a hiccup but it’s not an unexpected one.  This could literally happen to any band the next couple of years.

I bet they’ll still play the make up show before PJ announces a single new or rescheduled date.  That’s the difference.

Patience for people to be vaxed is over. That will climb minimul % points at best.

Even a single percentage point increase of vaxxed people is a blessing. None of this is over yet.

Everyone who wanted to get the vaccination could have gotten it by now. I would assume pj will have their entire crew vaxxed.  Time to schedule/announce some dates!

I don't want to go down a rabbits hole, but a single % point is not swinging the needle for a band to play, if that's even data they are looking at.

My boy Harry styles is going full on indoor tour!  There weren't huge upticks after the Stanley cup or nba playoffs so let’s get a rocking!

The band moves it's own needle, and that's all I've got (or anyone's got) left to say on that.
Look, I want new dates too. And I want to see my MSG & Apollo shows. But, like the band, I don't want to be on the hook for someone getting sick, or dying at a show (or after a show).
Hence, we wait. And no one on this board is going to make them decide any faster.
Everyone could up & leave, declaring love for U2, Dave Matthews Band, 311, or Foo Fighters, and PJ would still sell out concerts & merch.
We're lucky to have them still around.
AiC = gone. Soundgarden = gone. Nirvana = gone.
    We wait, or leave.
    Me? I'm stayin'.

Has there been any data about any Covid spikes from indoor concerts like the Foos?  It’s been long enough since then.

Patience isn’t lacking, it’s basically being forced. They could announce that these will be rescheduled next fall, but at least they addressed it. Covid isn’t an excuse for communication anymore. Lets get movingggg

That is great news. Hopefully testing coming to and from is not needed or they have the quick tests that are free.

We ALL need to be patient.
Patient for what exactly? I am double vaxxed. What am I waiting for now? The rest of the world to catch up? Then what?
    lol
Nothing funny about this to be honest. When does it "end" for you?
    For some, never.
It is a serious question though. I am really curious the mindset of some of these people and what they are expecting to happen in the next year or two and how their comfort levels are driving their thoughts on how everyone else needs to act.

My above post about me having my double vax was not so much a I am good screw everyone else lets go kind of statement. It was more of a  what else am I supposed to do comment. What is the endgame here? We were supposed to lockdown to help the people that are most vulnerable to the disease so our healthcare systems did not collapse. Did that. We were supposed to get vaxxed to help contribute to herd immunity. Did that too. Now what? Vaccinations have stalled to a crawl in the states with some states having embarrassingly low numbers. Cases will rise and fall for years and years. Are we really going to be watching these numbers go up and down like a yoyo through seasons and not go back to normal even though the deaths and hospitalizations are nowheres near what they were in the past?

All I am asking is what am I being patient for? When does this end? With out mandatory vaccinations this is as close to as good as we are going to get.

I’m good without shows! You guys are the ones acting like it’s the end of your lives if you don’t attend anymore concerts, like I’ve said I’m fine living and doing the things I love to do without having to be in a space with thousands of fans for a show ..
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

Come one. Quit with the hyperbole. We are on a Pearl Jam forum discussing when new Pearl Jam shows will be announced. This is the focus of the forum and not the end of our lives if it does not happen. If you see me out in public do you think this is all we would talk about?

Pearl Jam hasn’t been a touring machine for almost 20 years.  So it’s not much of a surprise that they’ve pulled back even more during the pandemic.  I’m glad we’re getting two shows this year with hopefully more to come next spring.

No one knows when Pearl Jam will announce more dates, & I would bet Pearl Jam themselves don't know, they're clearly taking a wait & see approach... Foo Fighters just cancelled a gig because someone in the crew tested positive... the Red Sox / Yankees series this weekend is cancelled due to some Yankees testing positive. LA is trying to go back to indoor masking (good luck w/ that).

No one wants to hear it, but this pandemic isn't over yet.

I get that people want definitive answers, but they just aren't there yet and clearly the band is hesitant to proceed.

There's still a lot of uncertainties around the short term future and how all of this is going to play out. It is what it is.

& not for nothing, but with all the pissing and moaning about flight vouchers expiring in December... do people really want to start booking flights & hotels for this fall / winter knowing that any given show could be cancelled?
