I called my local record shop owner, he said he just got an email about this release and he can order it for me. No details on colors or different editions however.
Was the email from the Ten Club.
He didn't say, if you have a local shop call them up. He just quoted me a price and he had the date.
Getting completely away from merch has been the best thing I have ever done.
completely agree. Saw that this thing plus shipping would cost me $50. Easy pass. I already own 2 copies of No Code on Vinyl. A clear one sitting on a shelf until I die and its my kids' problem isnt worth $50. This stuff doesnt do it for me any more.

I’m no computer expert but I’m pretty sure when the ten club sends out an email it doesn’t all go out at once. I’m guessing it goes out in batches and that’s why some people got it closer to 1pm and others got it after 2pm.

I have moved that way a great deal, most the stuff I don't bite for anymore. The bat was a tough one, but I am a vinyl guy so this one kinda hurts. So I have a Newbury Coke Bottle Clear Ten reissue I will trade someone for this, if anybody is up for that.

yes, this part of it is not under 10C's control. BUT they could send the email a lot earlier than the on sale to make sure more people got it prior to sale

The same number of people would have got to buy one no matter when they sent it out. Just different people ticked off and different people all smiles.

On a side note, I finally got my X-mas Singles, should i even bother contacting Santos since there's a gouge in the middle of sleeve of one of them not caused by the USPS?

I understand that many of you are frustrated that you missed out, pointing out that they received the email after it was sold out. Why are people immediately blaming Santos/Ten Club...are people insinuating that the emails are sent out in batches and there's a secret VIP list that gets them first? I saw the Facebook post AND received the email...logged in and had no issue getting one and I can assure you I'm no VIP.
Nothing is perfect and that includes sending out a blast email to thousands of people....

My main gripe is limited edition merch in general... and 10C has a murky history of this kind of stuff that's very very very much within their control.

I would be surprised if there isnt a black pressing available in August since its out of print. The release of this would surely be driven by the label rather than 10c. 10c/ management maybe wanted in on it and got this special clear version but could have been restricted in terms of quantity. If that was the case I would have rather it have been luck whether you get a clear or a black, sent at random. Saying that the clear could be available elsewhere. We know exclusive doesnt always mean exclusive anymore. For instance I see stuff being advertised as exclusive all the time only for it to be easily available through a retailer in another country.
Anyway my point is - dont pay $200 for this.
What a perfectly reasonable post, Get it the Hell out of here

I mentioned the email batches. I’m not suggesting a conspiracy theory VIP list. Just the opposite… that it’s the luck of the draw when your email address gets pushed out by the server. I was mostly responding to people complaining that the emails arrived long after it sold out and was just offering a technical explanation for why that happened.

So forum post was posted just before 1 p.m. I didn't get the email until around 1:30 p.m. I can't monitor the forum boards 24/7 as I have a job. Anyways, sending the email was moot cause when it was already sold out when I clicked "buy." Kinda ridiculous. I'm not going to spend the hundreds of dollars on a third party site. It's not worth it, even with the "mastered for vinyl." Wake me up when they start doing AAA releases.
this is partly why i'm on twitter. set your notifications for pearl jam to "always notify", I get a pop up on my phone of every tweet. saw it, clicked the link, bought immediately. same way i got the bat.
I got the notification by Instagram and could buy 1. I got the mail 20 min after I bought it and it was sold out by then

Which leads me to my other gripe..
We speculate a bunch on here, us weird and unreasonable fans... but if Santos (Tim?) can chime in on here telling us about inventory supply.... why can't he explain the quantity restrictions, if that was the case? The more open and honest they are with us, the better things would be.

yeah, like I said, I got the email over 30 minutes after the twitter notification, so if I had waited on the email, i would have been shut out. I do this with most bands that sell limited stuff. if they have an app, download it. if they don't, get notifications from socials.
waiting for emails is so 2006.

At the end of the day vinyl is just stuff. Well-marketed and with a mystique decades in the making, but stuff nonetheless. The music is something we all already have and love.
Funny that the people who got one are all cool and relaxed about it.
Haha, I noticed this too. Just let people vent, its ok.
Venting definitely helped me. I was ready to put my head through the window of my office. I've claimed down now after many ALL CAPS messages and yelling inside of my car.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
