Since Ed is doing things like VaxLive, do you think he might just go out on a Solo tour?

Yeah, I could see this. Just watched "corduroy". That was a complete reworking of that song. I would imagine that took a fair amount of rehearsing. I would be surprised if Ed and the backing band did not play more dates this year. For all we know there may be clauses written in the Pearl Jam tour contract where they have to play the announced dates before adding more. We shall see.

I do not want to derail this thread but its performances like this that I just don't understand. Why put in all that effort getting a new backing band together when you have the best band ever at your disposal? Again, maybe the other guys were busy but then you show up with who is available. i.e. ed & mike at tibetan freedom fest 1997. Who knows.
I doubt it takes professional musicians that long to rehearse and learn two songs.

I can’t see Ed going on a significant tour with a backing band that is not PJ and playing more than 3 Pearl Jam songs.

I dont believe any DCU center rumor.  While this would be great since I live 15 mins from the DCU, Massachusetts will probably be the last state to allow gatherings and concerts.

I would be surprised if it is unvaccinated, no distancing and unmasked though on that date. Those are the 3 things that need to be lifted for Pearl Jam to play arena shows again.

How you know what 3 things need to be lifted? Are you just speculating or is that based on something they actually said?

I agree with PJNB, they wont play unless it can be a normal show.  Charlie Baker is incredibly hesitant and I dont think anything will happen in Mass until 2022 in terms of unvaccinated, unmasked and non distanced shows.

You mean just for PJ? Because they are definitely coming back. Sooner rather than later.

Any band that asks you to vax/mask up and hang in there isn't interested in playing half-capacity or full capacity shows this year. It is a fairly revealing statement, and not just applicable to Europe when it was made.

We'll have full dome stadiums before Ohana.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

I don't know shit and to be honest should of said that is 100% speculation. Being a band that has a postponed tour that is fully sold out I see no other way of doing things than eliminating those three. Maybe masks are mandatory when they play but I would be surprised.

If these indoor shows go ahead, it’s as good as guaranteed SHN and Ohana will happen.

Right. Band better start practicing!  Hopefully they can keep the tour trucks rolling through the fall and we get some sort of announcement soon!

There's a bit of a time difference.  That arena tour is attempting to start in the late fall (November), where was those festivals are in the spring and late summer.   A few months could make a big difference.

I still feel like PJ is the kind of band to wait to see if the pandemic levels outs before announcing tour dates.  Hopefully that happens.  I'm not talking herd immunity.. I'm just talking that point where case start going down across the board (which it does seem to be doing in a number of states).

My point being that if arena shows are to happen in November, then outdoor shows in September can surely happen. As we all know now, being outdoors is much safer and there is significantly less chance of infection spreading.

Wilco/Sleater-Kinney shows in August and September confirmed to be going forward. I’m assuming they’re all outdoor venues.

Me too, the drawings look great. We have tickets for The Black Crowes at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater July 31st. Hopefully that one doesn't get postponed.

KC venue is a great indoor venue and the last place we saw a show before covid (Raconteurs). I really want to buy tickets to this awesome double bill, but I may pass.

I am wavering towards buying tickets. I am not a huge fan of either band, but I love Uncle Tupelo, so the chance to see Jeff Tweedy might be too good to pass up.

Same here. I am a big Wilco fan and they are great live, plus the Boston venue is open-air but covered. Didn't snag a ticket for the original dates, but am itching to see a show so badly that I am ready to pull the trigger this time around.
