Two members of my extended family have been going through chemo treatments on and off for years and rushed to get the vaccine. Their doctors told them too since their immune systems are obviously compromised and Covid could easily kill them.
Are you saying the doctors of the folks you know going through chemo told them NOT to get the vaccine?
I haven’t spoken to anyone with cancer about the vaccine. But there are questions and limited research on it. From the America Cancer Society website:
Many expert medical groups recommend that most patients with cancer or a history of cancer should get a COVID-19 vaccine. Since the situation for every person is different, it is best to discuss the risks and benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine with your cancer doctor, who can advise you.
So while they say it’s safe for most, they imply there are likely exceptions and to talk to your dr first. Which is all I claimed, limited information in some instances. While I personally probably would get it under those circumstances, I don’t think a mandate is right at this time.
You claimed: "Many people are being told by their doctors to not get the vaccine" but the anecdotal evidence you provided doesn't really support that statement.
Perhaps someone should alert India, where almost 4,000 people died yesterday from it.
Or the more than 750 people in the USA, if you were only thinking about America and not the rest of the world.

Heard a joke this morning:
if nobody is wearing masks, how are we supposed to know who had the vaccine?
Just ask them who won the election.
ba dum dum.......ching .
That is brilliant I'm so going to use that
I just used it on my mother in law as we have a function with that side of the family up in a more rednecky part of my area and we were wondering how many of them would not be wearing masks and stuff.
I can report it got a great laugh, at which point I said "Alright that's it for me!" I waved and walked away as she was still laughing.

Brand new vaccine. Of course there is limited info. lol
The way you started your posts about this stuff saying "many people are being told by their docs not to get it", I was under the assumption you heard that doctors were advising cancer patients to not get it, which I think is nuts. Of course everyone's situation is different though.
Thanks for clarifying!
Actually, I started by saying everyone should get the vax. But since there is limited knowledge and everyone’s situation is different, I don’t think it should be required.
Clarification was asked for, I gave it. You’re welcome? I never said doctors are telling cancer patients not to get it. Just said there was limited research. A big jump to think that means doctors are telling cancer patients not to get it.
Jugg's being trying to cancel Mace for some time now.
Asking for clarification and pointing out failed logic and reasoning is not canceling; it's constructive criticism.
What was failed logic? Is there this research that’s been kept hidden? I shared that 2 coworkers who are planning on being pregnant were told to wait. I explained it was hearsay but believe them. Also some family friends who recently recovered from covid were told to wait. I added there is limited to no research for many conditions. I pointed out the cancer society says there is limited research so talk to your dr, and Juggs took that as saying I’m claiming doctors are telling cancer patients not to get it. That’s failed logic, I never said that.
Therefore, while I believe everyone should get the vaccine, I respect the decision not to for some people and don’t think it should be required. What is the failed logic in that? I have my vaccine, I’m happy with that. If someone feels uncomfortable getting theirs, fine.

Are you here all week or are you moving on to the Holiday Inn off Route 6?
Try the veal. Tip your waiter.
What aboot the scallops? Should I try the scallops? And the bartender. Should I tip the bartender? And masks. Are masks still required at the Holiday Inn? I'm going to guffaw. A lot.

Many people are saying the scallops lead to them getting food poisoning.

Okay. How about the prime rib? Should I try the prime rib? And do they have the horseradish sauce?
Welp, after the news from yesterday I guess we can throw (1) the coronavirus and (b) the coronavirus thread onto the list of things that have been canceled.
You do know why threads get locked, correct?

Fox News trying to claim that Tom Hanks was ‘canceled’ is proof of its utter desperation
You may have a hard time understanding how Dr. Seuss, Mr. Potato Head and Tom Hanks are connected, but that probably just means you haven’t been watching nearly enough Fox News recently.
The cable network, which suffered a shaky existential moment after Donald Trump lost his reelection bid, has recovered its purpose — and its ratings.
These days, Fox is all-in on culture wars and outrage-stoking.
The latest is a ridiculous fuss that began with a recent guest essay by Tom Hanks in the New York Times, in which the actor reflected on how he was not taught about the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, in which hundreds of Black people were killed by a White mob.
Deggans praised Hanks, using words like “wise” and “wonderful.” He began: “First I must note how much I love Tom Hanks as a performer, Hollywood citizen and all-around stand-up guy.” And he went on, in a measured way, to urge that Hanks should now go further: “After many years of speaking out about race and media in America, I know the toughest thing for some white Americans — especially those who consider themselves advocates against racism — is to admit how they were personally and specifically connected to the elevation of white culture over other cultures.”
Always poised for an unnecessary fight, Fox News went to town on this, claiming that simply by virtue of receiving a mild critique from another writer, Hanks had now been unjustly “canceled.” It’s the scare word getting applied to almost anything these days, meant to evoke a beatdown from some unforgiving woke mob. The estate of Dr. Seuss decides to stop publishing several obscure books because of racist imagery? Cancel culture! Hasbro considers marketing its plastic toys in a more gender-neutral way? Cancel culture!

That essay prompted NPR’s Eric Deggans to write a response last weekend headlined “Tom Hanks Is a Non-Racist. It’s Time for Him To Be Anti-Racist.”
