She wasn't joking Juggler. Below is her defense as Run Into The Rain states. I guess she learned in college what a washer/dryer and dishwashers are. I guess you can't be a squad member on just good looks alone!
They were illegal in NYC for a long time and never really became a thing after the ban was lifted
Other home things many NYers don’t have in their apartments: washer/dryer, dishwasher, central air.
(Saving up for a portable dishwasher was one of the best things we did)

Good grief. She never had a fucking garbage disposal. So what?
Yeah... and it's from 3 years ago. I don't know what he thinks he is trying to prove when comparing it to vile comments that come out of Greene's mouth constantly. These people have nothing.

Marjorie three names? What does it say about the voters in her district? Representative democracy, right? And TJ is giddy over it.
Bring up the garbage disposal thing in the AOC thread. Here, you should be defending MTG. Say something good about her. What has she done for her constituents? What is great about her vision? Is there anything positive to say about her besides that she owns the libs?

Garbage disposals is right.
Its not just her voters in her district. Its the people who support her financially, in the rightwingosphere, and posting on sites like this one.

Yup. I can vouch for that. I hand wash my dishes every night. Pull any food scraps out of the drain with my fingers and toss them in the trash, and lug my clothes over to the laundromat once a week. No central air either. But there is still nowhere else I would rather live.

We have a very efficient dishwasher that is set for maximum cleaning with minimum water usage. It also performs other various and sundry domestic chores. Only problem is, its kind of old and wearing out, and a bit goofy looking:

You might learn things like the fact that garbage disposals were outlawed in NYC from the early '70's until 1997......
I don’t remember this video, but it’s funny. Why can’t people just say it’s a dumb moment and comments instead of justifying it? So according to this, they were legal for over 20 years again, the majority of her life. Theres lots of things I don’t know what they’re for when I go to Home Depot, I’ve never been scared of them. It doesn’t make her a bad person, or even a bad public official. But it is funny to laugh at someone for being afraid of an appliance that 99.99% of the country is familiar with.
It’s like being afraid of a toilet for having the push buttons instead of a handle. Don’t need to be afraid and post a video. It’ll be okay.

I have a garbage disposal and I am more terrified of it than anything I work around in an industrial setting, especially when small things like measuring spoons fall in it.

I don’t see why you’d be afraid of a garbage disposal and not a blender or toaster. But I’m also willing to bet you knew what it was, didn’t post a video about it and ask if it’s safe for the environment? But my point was it was funny to laugh at her because it was ridiculous. No need to try and defend it, everyone her age should know what a garbage disposal is and that they are not harmful to the environment, I don’t care if you grew up in NYC and they’ve only been legal for 25 years. But also It’s not dumb enough to be a counter argument to most of what MTG says either. It’s just funny, doesn’t mean anything. No need to defend her on people, everyone says stupid things from time to time.
my landlady came to fix my garbage disposal once. stuck her hand right in there. then I noticed the switch was on. dodged a bullet there.
When I put in a ceiling light or something like that, I lock the door to the room with the breakers and tell the kids to just watch TV. As long as I know where they are I’m fine, if I start hearing footsteps I stop.

my house is wired strangely. I went to change a light fixture. Thought I had the right breaker off. (and my voltage tester needed a new battery). Made a circuit of myself when I grabbed both wires. that felt...weird.

It's funny about what people are concerned about. I've forgotten to turn off 15amp breakers before working. It's pretty low risk since you are an awful conductor. Plus most tools have rubber handles and basic fieldcraft will have you position yourself as a poor conductor.
I'm also paranoid about jacks failing. If I'm under a car, I use ramps, chocks and throw in a jack to be extra sure. Getting my head crushed freaks me out.
I will give her credit here. She’s one of the few people who appropriately use the Frekenstein analogy by referring to the doctor, and not the monster, with the use of the name “Frankenstein.”

But, sure, let's talk about an Instagram story from AOC about garbage disposals that's 3 years old.
