Hard to say. I agree that conventional wisdom was that he needed an "experienced politician" as his running mate. Pence was probably not his idea, but I doubt he put up much of a fight. Now? Now that's not what's needed. Now, all the right wingers that were unsure about Trump consider him the greatest person in the history of this country.
