Billy Corgan looks fat to me.  That's not a good look for a rock star.  After what he said about Chris Cornell, he deserves such comments as far as I'm concerned.  By the way, there are too many pansies on this site.

    let's see...."struck a nerve"....comments on post counts, and appearances.....yep....that's the Troll Trifecta.

    later.

  • Long Red, "mean spirited" should be "mean-spirited" when utilized in the manner that you used it.
  • HughFreakingDillon -- Trolls are sort of cool in their own way, especially ones who guard bridges and other landmarks. I suppose I've been called worse.
  • In case you guys couldn't guess, I'm not a fan of Billy Corgan in any way whatsoever. I guess I made that pretty clear. I'd be inclined to let him know if I ever saw him in person, but I seriously doubt that will ever happen. Peace out!

The thing to know about Billy Corgan is that he is a silly ninny.

He fired a former Pumpkins' manager, only to have that manager's replacement quit shortly thereafter (her quoted reason was because Billy Corgan made her sick).

He broke up the Pumpkins, saying that he had taken pop music as far as he possibly could, and that the Pumpkins were no longer interesting to him. At one point he insulted James Iha, and called bassist D'arcy a "mean-spirited drug addict." A few years later, he paid for a full page ad in the Chicago Tribune and Sun Times, pleading for his band back (Iha and D'arcy flatly refused to come back and work with him at the time).

Aside from an uninteresting solo album, Billy also formed the band Zwan in his Pumpkins off time. After Zwan broke up, he went out of his way to insult his former Zwan bandmates, calling them "filthy", "opportunistic", "selfish" and "posers".

Billy also spent some of his humbling Pumpkins off-time appearing at professional wrestling matches. His appearances had little to do with music. In the ECW, Billy broke a guitar over someone's head.

Then of course, there was the William Corgan phase... is he still doing that? The Pumpkins redux, unsuccessful albums, the appearances on InfoWars, the WTF Swine flu theory, the insults toward many of his peers, and now... William once again finds himself at odds with a former bandmate.

I'm not trying to criticize his albums, or his art... all of that is subjective. Regardless, this guy is a clown.

I think this is the perfect post for this thread.  The question is his behavioural patterns and the lack of credibility it lends to his public comments on his peers and also what impact they will have on how he is viewed and remembered. I don't think it will be all that positive for people who are outside of his inner circle of hardcore fans.  As for his music and art, subjective is the exact word.  That side of it will just boil down to whether his work is something you connect with or not.

1999- My roommate was working as a parking lot attendant at Wrigley Field.  There was a high roller lot for VIPs next to the players parking lot.  Billy pulled up in his car to enter the lot for a day game.  My roommate told Billy it was $40 to park in the lot.  Billy looked at him and said, "Don't you know who I am?".  My roommate responded, "Yes I do Mr. Corgan and it will still be $40."

I can’t stand Billy Corgan. Terrible singer imo and a vastly overrated song writer. But the icing on the cake is his planet sized ego. Dude is just a douche all around.
Edit: just read some other comments in this thread and what he said about CC’s death is just unbelievable, even for him. He is a pompous, insufferable, bloated jackass. Part of me feels bad even giving him this much attention by spending 5 minutes of my day reading/writing this.
