I thought you wouldn't converse with someone of the likes of me? Weird.

Yea, I bought paint and had work done on my house. Contractor had no issues getting shit from hardware stores. Even paint colors from almost 25 years ago. Imagine that? Bike shop up the street has an 18 wheeler twice a week dropping new bikes, racks are full. I'm not in the market for a car or appliances but when I go by car lots, they have inventory as do the Best Buys and Home Depots. What I could use is a new laptop because Dell sucks but I don't have it in me to deal with technology. Thats why there's IT departments. Oh, and someone in the store I was in last night wanted baby formula and they had it but had to get the key.

I work in consumer goods manufacturing and the supply chain is an issue every single day for most business units.  Sometimes it's just the cost or the cost of T&W.  But it has also been in raw materials.   I see supply chain issues sticking around a bit.  Nothing like no TP on the shelf...but limited choice and higher prices.  Though it does seem T&W is trending in a better direction at the moment.

I just have lots of big cans of freeze dried eggs.  Just in case 😂
Is that like Tang where you just add water and BOOM, you’ve got orange juice? If so, I’ll have to look into it. Question, can you get them over easy?
It’s like tang but powdered eggs. It looks like tang too minus the color

it’s not terrible if you are camping or starving.  I wouldn’t eat it by choice. Unless I couldn’t get eggs

during the last supply chain issue the toilet paper I had to buy was like sandpaper so I’m not doing that again. Proportionally powdered eggs are better than bad toilet paper or no toilet paper

We bought a washer and dryer last year. Had to wait about a week. Had a pool put in this summer. Supply issues caused some minor delays but nothing major at all. Was finished just a couple weeks behind schedule.

No I was talking about what I mentioned. Yeah the cost of shit is absolutely insane right now--absolutely agree. But hopefully the trends from these latest reports over the summer continue and inflation really has peaked.
Peaked maybe. I don’t think it’s coming down anytime soon though at least to anything approaching normal

    Probably 1/2 good news

covid doesn’t help. The amount of people spending money now everyone is out and about again is crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen prices rise this much and people just continue buying anyway.  Vacations are a good example.  If you haven’t had one in a few years you went no matter what this summer. If covid didn’t happen people may not have and the economy contracts rapidly and inflation goes down

It’s not weird. You’re not easy to talk to when it come to politics. Nothing personal. I’m glad you had no issue. Making old colors is nothing, we make decades old colors every day. And I’m not sure the extent of work you had done but most of the problems are with new construction, gut renovations, new kitchens , new bathrooms etc…. The paint you put on your wall is one thing. We’ve had issues all year getting certain coatings for industrial use, fire retardant coatings, certain bases that are used to make dark colors for schools….. there’s always an issue. But, we work our way around it. My shelves are stocked but it takes a lot of extra work to find replacement products and keep track of hundreds of SKU that are out of stock so we can keep trying to reorder and they don’t fall through the cracks. Most vendors nowadays don’t backorder products

My point being that when the repubs screamed and yelled and stamped their feet regarding the supply chain issues, while offering no solutions of their own and whilst criticizing Brandon, they made it sound like the world was coming to an end and it was all Brandon’s and the Dems’ fault. Brandon pulled the levers he had available and here we are with nary a peep from repubs. It’s the difference between having an adult at the helm and petulant children in office.

I think it’s pretty cool how paint chemistry and technology has changed and how completely and scientific paint formulas have become, although the environmental impact of micro-plastics and chemicals and metals can be concerning. Not so much to use or health while using because the lead has been removed and the awareness of VOCs but the disposal and manufacturing issues. Had a friend who painted a rental unit with marine paint because he thought it would withstand douchebag tenants and their abuse. Fire engine red and canary yellow color scheme. He was odd. But I still find it amazing that you can bring in a paint chip from 25 years ago and they’ll formulate a perfect match. Way different than when I was kid and painted the neighbor’s house starting at age 12.

Don’t you use barcoding, hand scanners and software and analytics  to manage your inventory, ordering, etc.? Shit can streamline your headaches.

He is too busy re-posting a user falsely claiming to be his daughter complaining about “the useless vaccines.”

Back in the real world she supports them

i really need to get on truth social. I’d be banned in a day though

Have you tried to buy appliances? Had any construction done lately? Paint? I’m dealing with supply chain issues everyday. Not to mention 20-70% increases on most products. With more increases to come from companies like GM and Roman.
We bought a washer and dryer last year. Had to wait about a week. Had a pool put in this summer. Supply issues caused some minor delays but nothing major at all. Was finished just a couple weeks behind schedule.

In my neck of the woods gas prices are down almost a dollar from where they were a couple months ago.

I mean, I’m in the business. 20-70% increases on material in a year is insane. And I’m still facing supply issues on a ton of products. Unless we were only talking about eggs?
Our AC went out 2 weeks ago. Got 4 quotes. All betwee $8000-9000. I was shocked. I told them I was expecting half they. They said 2 years ago it would have been. The day they out in the AC the dishwasher went out. Same thing there too, up a lot from just a couple years ago.

Yeah I got a quote on replacing our hvac in the spring and, of course, the prices were insane. I was not shocked, as I was expecting much higher prices given everything that has happened. But had I gone through with it though, it would not have taken them long to do it. Couple weeks or so. Supply chain stuff wasn't much of an issue.
