“She represents the BEST of America”

I can tell many of you get bent when I refer to Biden as Shit-4-brains…well after this last stunt and press conference there really is no  other way to describe him. Glad an American is home, but come on man….
So tell us why that statement is not correct! Why she doesn’t represent the best America has to offer? We know for a fact that the Previous president is the worst America had to offer the world and his supporters are no better..

She doesn't look or sound like the best of America to you, right Ms Marie? Just come out and say it. We all know what you mean.

I said it earlier and this deplorable post proves it: this poor woman is set to be vilified by almost half the country for the rest of her life. Thanks Donald Trump!

So Marc Fogel sits in a Russian prison for bringing in medical marijuana to Russia.  This was before Griner.  Biden and his administration are a miserable failure.   They couldn't negotiate a trade to get two people on marijuana charges for an arms dealer.

They even had the balls to setup a photo op in the Oval Office.

To me, Marc had been there longer and should have got released.  I wonder if Russia negotiated Griner's release to tick off half the country to show implied favoritism for an athlete.  Smart if so.

What is it about her that doesn’t represent the BEST of America? Was it her breaking an opponents nose? Her domestic violence conviction? Her failed marriage? Pot smoking?

    Care to expound?

lol trump got 5000 taliban fighters freed and not a peep from people like linda.

I don't care what either family thinks.  I'm looking at the situation.   After how many months of negotiating we took the deal we got offered in the first hour of negotiations.   Miserable failure, and not sure how someone in jail longer in Russia for the same crime is still sitting there.

Of course the family is going to say they are happy she is back.  Nobody wants any of them over there.   If they broke the law then they should serve some punishment over there, but not Russian punishment.

An American is coming home. Tough choices were made but AN AMERICAN IS COMING HOME. This used to be a joyous time for the majority of America. Not in today's world unfortunately.

Biden held a press conference to announce a prisoner trade.  Unbelievable.  Like this was some sort of accomplishment.  Glad an American is back but this isn't an accomplishment to boast about.  A trade.

If a middle aged white man from Ohio had done the exact same thing Griner did and was swapped in the exact kind of exchange that was agreed upon today, something tells me a lot of people wouldn't be so outraged this morning.

Well, the middle aged white man from Pennsylvania (Marc Fogel) is still in prison in Russia for same crime as Griner, so perhaps if we get better at negotiating we can prove your theory.  He didn’t play basketball and wasn’t famous enough to merit a trade.

Trust me, I would be blasting the administration for any one person trade for the arms dealer.  Let’s stop ignoring the fact that Griner was more famous and Biden wanted a win and for it to go away because nobody will care about Fogel.

Yeah....I'm sure you're well aware of the innerworkings of the negotiating and what Russia was willing to part with, boot. Come on man.

A political win, that is being widely criticized, a month AFTER an historical midterm win is what you're going with here? That makes no sense what so ever.

I'm not taking side here but I honestly want to know, what is it about Brittney Griner to refer to her as "represents the best America — the best about America"?

Had no idea who she was, but somehow her contingent were able to keep her name in the media more than the others.

Don’t think 16 grams difference should play a role in how the US picks a prisoner.

I have no doubt that the US is trying to get the others back.

I just find this particular deal utterly pathetic on the US’s part.  It should have been a 3 for 1 trade.  We gonna hand over bombs next time, because that is basically what we did this time and only got one of many American prisoners back.

I am surprised some of you don’t expect more from your government.   If you criticize Biden here you are automatically labeled MAGA.

Of course the family is going to say they are happy she is back.  Nobody wants any of them over there.   If they broke the law then they should serve some punishment over there, but not Russian punishment.
How are you so sure that this administration is done negotiating the release of any other captive Americans? Please point us to when this administration stated that they are done negotiating?
He keeps saying same crime too. 9 year term verses 14 year term tells me the two are not quite the same....
Not the same in Russia’s eyes maybe.
So go ahead point me to when this administration stated that they are done negotiating the release of any other American captives? Will be here waiting
    Why wait?

White House says it will continue to negotiate for Whelan’s release

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Thursday that the administration will continue working to secure Paul Whelan’s release, saying that Russia was not willing to reach an agreement on his release.

Russia, she said, was willing only to let Brittney Griner go in exchange for the Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Whelan has been made aware that Griner was released, Jean-Pierre added.

“This was not a choice for us on which American to bring home,” Jean-Pierre said. “That was not the choice. It was a choice between bringing home one American or bringing home none.”

Fogel had 17 grams....Griner less than 1 gram

and Griner famous? please...admit that you had no idea who she was prior to her arrest
Had no idea who she was, but somehow her contingent were able to keep her name in the media more than the others.

Don’t think 16 grams difference should play a role in how the US picks a prisoner.
Quite obviously makes a difference in Russia's eyes...

If this guy gets released in the next week (obviously don't expect that) people will still complain Griner got let out first. lol
