  • is someone really arguing that it is ok for people to make their own truth and that it is ok for the government to deal in allowing mistruths to be accepted as facts? or am i reading that wrong??

First - no the press secretary is getting the President's message out. Some of what they say is not truthful or at the very least not completely forthright.  It's spin.  If you believe otherwise, that's part of the problem.

Second - no - I don't want the Gov't determining what is and is not truth.  Yes, they should get their message across. But, not they should not be regulating what is truth.  We've all read those books.

In terms of criminalization - sure, that's yet to be seen. So, is that your bridge? As long as they only try to promote their truth, it's ok?  But if they start jailing people it's not?  That's what I'm asking.   At what point are you troubled by that?  I'm troubled already.

But you didn't seem troubled at all by the POOTWH administration. Not. At. All.

Stop the presses, press secretaries spin? Holy shit.

Show me an example of the Gov't determining truth. You mean like Bill DISbarred and his Team Mueller Report summation?

What's this criminalization you speak of? Echo chambering somewhere?
No idea what you're talking about as it relates to Winnie the Pooh.  That has nothing to do with this conversation. What I think about another Administration is irrelevant to the discussion.

There are plenty of examples and your dismissing the spin a press secretary does (in all Administrations - I guess you missed the part where I stated that as a generality) proves your issue.

There is no criminalization.  I didn't say there was.  That was me asking if that's the bridge too far.

When folks here learn to actually take the time to read and comprehend, I'll consider your opinion valid.  You completely made up your own world based on nothing.

So, again - does it not bother you that the Government (any Administration) created a Disinformation Board?

Yes, each Administration creates their own narrative (thus, the Press Secretary points).  But, should they create an Agency that determines what the truth is?  Hard no for me.  So, I'll ask again - where is your line in the sand when it comes to the Government creating an agency to monitor truth?
This post ages particularly well, especially the part about comprehension.

Maybe a little less Gym Jordan and his 60 page audition for house speaker and a little more know of what you speak prior to asking where our line in the sand is. Or is it less echo chamber?

”Government creating an agency to monitor truth.” Made my weekend.

Mr Biden seems even more like the walking dead lately. Can we please get back to a president that isn’t 1 foot in the grave?

I really don't understand your take on this. He consistently speaks to the press without prepared remarks, answers political and global questions with ease and clarity....I just don't get it. I'm not even comparing him to Trump here. Just on his own, I think he does really well.

I’m talking about seeing him and listening to him from his recent visit to Cincinnati. Saw a lot on the news. All presidents age (except trump cause he didn’t work or care)…and it’s showing pretty bad. Dude is freakin 79… I’m surprised people don’t think he looks old and has had some change in just 1 year.

I don't see it, but I didn't see his recent visit. the last thing I saw was the White House Correspondents Dinner.

I think that’s where he said he’s the first senator in Delaware. He obviously means he’s the first senator from Delaware to become president. Not a big deal.

yeah, he makes flubs here and there. the guy even mocks himself for this. he's not a great speaker. he knows it. but that doesn't make him senile, like many R's try to make him out to be.

Yeah, I don't think it's fair to assume people are senile at 70 or even 80 plus years of age.  For example, last night, I put on Willie Nelson's album, Ride Me Back Home. I said to my wife, "Isn't it great that Willie still sounds so good and writes songs that great for a guy his age?"  She asked how old he was when he made that album.  I check and told her, "He was 86."  And he's still making records.

Well, of course some people turn senile by the age of 79, but there is no reason to assume that to be the case.  And in my own opinion, Biden is doing just fine at 79.  I'll take him over Trump at any age.  Or George W. Bush, for that matter.

I'm not even talking about being senile...the man walks different, talks even more different....he is slowing down.  The year as president has been hard on his body.  It always is.  And when you are 78 when you start that job, I think it's effects are quicker.

yeah the job ages everyone. except for trump because he did not feel any stress because simply did not give a fuck.
Yup I actually already wrote that trump didn't age the same because he didn't stress and didn't work.  Personally think that shows exactly how little work he really put in.

And don't insult me.  I'll just say Fuck Joe Biden if that's what I mean!!!! ;)

He's definitely not the Joe Biden of 1995 or whatever. Imagine him putting nearly seven more years in. That's not going to happen. I hope the Dems are thinking ahead on 2024 because it's going to be a difficult battle, given the hold MAGA has on its base and the seeming lack of good candidates.

Biden neither looks or sounds sharp and to run him again would essentially be an attempt for his life to end the same way RBG's did; clinging to a position, despite not wanting to do it, simply so the other side can't take it. I definitely have no problem with people pointing this out.

And when you are 78 when you start that job, I think it's effects are quicker.
i think you are 3 weeks away from saying let's go brandon.

yeah i think i saw you say that about trump at some point. a few people have so i get everyone confused.

at least trump can remember person, man, woman, camera, and tv. biden is too busy trying to remember who he needs to call to ask for gas prices to be lowered, and then is told that he doesn't have any control over it.

and LOL at fuck joe biden.

i wish some of these maga people would just come out and say it instead of the cute code words that everyone can see through.

We should nominate Bernie so he can get his clock cleaned, losing 49 states to 1 and absolving Jimmy Carter or Walter Mondale of their biggest loser titles. And then be relegated to the dust bin of history.

you really think a moderate democrat and an independent will really vote for trump after all they have seen?

you give bernie waaaay too little credit.

look at the polling. the american people are on the same side on domestic issues as the democrats. go back several elections and it is the same story. the american people are center left on domestic issues.

trump is not winning over any voters with his post term antics either.

Yup, 7M more voted POOTWH after 4 years of a shit show and only a stolen election saved us. Gift article illustrates how POOTWHism is the new normal while Dems are branded as radical. World is upside down and this is just the beginning. Wait until the midterms and 2024. Good luck.

Correction: 11 million more votes in 2020. This gifted article explains it well. Better than the first one I posted. American democracy is dying and is soon to be a rotting corpse. Good luck.

  • Would any of you guys have Biden working in your business? (If you own one).  Serious Q.  I can’t think of a single spot he could work in.  He’s in the most powerful position in the world yet he couldn’t do basic data entry at an entry level position, let alone anything blue collar.  Think of other politicians- most if not all could be imagined working in a different setting.  Biden doesn’t even know where the exit is after he reads the teleprompter and calls from his list of pre chosen media.  Kinda unsettling.
