    You agree that he should be pardoned?  
    I'm not for sure yet.  I'm saying it's a worthwhile idea to explore.  The questions I ask myself are:

    1. Is there another person likely to do THIS in the future, therefore we have to send a clear message (like the rioters)?  The answer is no, in my opinion on that one. 
    2. Is Trump likely to serve a day in prison? No
    3. Is this trial likely to be completed before the election of 2020?  No.  
    4. Will Trump drop out because of this? No.  I think it's the reason he is in, so he can use it as a weapon.  I think the victim angle is his best weapon.  

    Now I'm not talking about J6 or GA at this point, I am only speaking of this federal indictment.

    I don't disagree with your points. 

    RE# 3, I think Smith has stated he's pushing for a quick trial. trump will try to delay though, and will absolutely play the victim card.

    absolutely no fucking pardon for trump. we did not learn from pardoning nixon and things are way more divided today than they were during ford's presidency.

    the man is the most criminal politician in american history and if convicted must be made an example of. his criminality must not stand. ever.

    pardoning trump would be an endorsement of his behavior.

    I'm with you in a lot of ways, but the op-ed isn't completely baseless. I have issues w/ some of what Thiessen said, like calling the trump / Russia connection a conspiracy, but it does raise some very good points. 

    It seems like the indictment over the documents is a slam dunk, but I'm still skeptical they'll get 12 people in South Florida who will convict him and if he walks, it will only bolster his 2024 bid.

    This is the problem... in this scenario we're discussing, we're catering to people who are untethered from reality and / or bad faith actors. 

    I understand the logic behind it, but historically, things like this don't pan out well for our country. 

    If he gets indicted in the Fulton County case, and / or January 6, I'll be fully on board w/ a pardon for the documents.

    sometimes it's tough being the adults.  But I'm more interested in the country than my party.  

    What we've learned is that there is no actual leadership in the GOP.  They let the rabble rule.  That's not changing until all of these radicalized boomers die off.  I'm more interested in the center, center right.
