Anyone who watches Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, his “and now this” segment is topical to this feed.  The best comment is the last by the woman who says she doesn’t wear a mask for the same reason she doesn’t wear underwear.  You have to let it breathe!

A guy we screened at the college last week compared the effectiveness of a mask to underwear. I bit my tongue and told him to put it on. Wish I had that image above at our entrance instead...

    Pretty good (and funny!) analogy.

And don't you just hate it when some guy pees on you?!

    It was a “setup.”

So I guess we’re supposed to believe that the business owner instructed Madame Speaker that she could only get her (also noncompliant) indoor haircut if she showed up to the salon without a mask.

Pelosi wants an apology from the salon owner.

She had an amazing run, but as the poet says, one of them anyway, “you cannot conquer time.”

And FWIW, if I were 80 years old and living in San Francisco, I’d probably wear a mask to check my damn mailbox.

It's just another politician deflecting blame.  Because trump has been so awful people have lowered their standards and are now pretending people like Pelosi are working class heros.  Bullshit.  She's an entitled power hungry politician.  And when you think no one is watching...she just proved it.

Exactly, “do as I say, not as I do”...Can we now start using “Damnit Nancy” in the same way we use “Shutup Karen” now?  I think I’ll try to start the trend...unapologetically ;)
She wasn’t setup, she was just caught.
In all fairness, Fancy Nancy probably just wanted her hair to smell REAL good for the next meeting with Biden, ha

  • Seems the hair salon has been doing business since April in violation of San Francisco’s covid restrictions. Seems the owner also erroneously thought Nancy was behind the lockdown of such businesses. You’d think the anti-maskers would be holding her out to be a hero.

    No, no we don’t.
Interesting.  I just looked up the senate.  While it's clear there are those in there WAY TOO LONG, it's a smaller amount then I thought.

30% have been in over 20 years
    50% total > 15 years

I am for term limits...unsure exactly where I would cap it for the Senate.  Had thought 3 6-yr terms maybe?  Or fewer terms, longer years to reduce election nonsense.

If the elected representative in a district or state is doing a good enough job for them, why should they be jettisoned because someone in another state doesn’t like their politics? “Sorry, Cincy, you’ve been doing a great job for the company but we have a limit to how long you can be in your position, go clean out your desk.”

Term limits are lazy and stupid. You’d have a better result taking the obscene amounts of money required out of the equation.

I see your point, despite the quote feature being weird.

Why do we have term limits on president then?

I would say, as I think about it, perhaps only for Senators who are much more powerful on the national level and far less linked to their constituents.
