A black person took a knee and he was kicked out of the league. It is unfathomable how much people don’t understand and Drew’s statement was just a reminder of how out of touch people are.
black people are upset about racism and police brutality and Drew is upset that someone kneels during the national. Drew, great guy, but so off the mark on this one. I hope it wakes people up that their petty anger about kneeling is silly compared to a man being killed with a knee to the neck for nine minutes.

Drew will be fine.

He said he chooses to stand during the national anthem, and each time he does, he thinks of his grandfathers that served in WWII. Not sure how anyone can take offense to that. He said nothing negative about those who choose to take a knee or what it symbolizes. All he commented on was his choice to stand and why.
We live in an upside down world.
Halifax,, I'm calling you out for the fraud that you are, I don't even believe that you were a die hard Pearl Jam fan, you hang around this website just to troll and keep the Flames burning that is your Hallmark.
I haven't commented anywhere recently, & the first time I make a peep there you are, I am sure Smelly will be soon to follow.
you are not actual Pearl Jam fans thatlove the band. YOU are in a group of hatres.
One of Eddie's most beautiful trates that initially drew many of us to their brand of music was his compassion for mankind.
None of that is displayed around here anymore.
This post is hateful as well as inane.
Bravo

I asked two of my black friends (one family) and one Mexican friend if any of them took offense to Brees’ comments today. None of them did. I guess some people do and some don’t. I can respect both decisions. After listening to it again, I see how some would take issue with his opening remark.0

He was protected for years at Florida but when he got to the NFL he couldn't keep up.
There is a long history of star college quarterbacks from big time programs i.e. Alabama, USC, Miami, etc that cant cut it in the NFL because they rarely were threatened or had to struggle on the field.0 -

Thanks for answering.
Something that always irked me was I watched Tebow play for the Broncos. Watched them win. Make it to the playoffs. Win a playoff game. He still got zero respect from people. It reminds me of the people saying that Jackson should change positions. He didn't and he is winning and no one cares now.
What Tebow and Kap both have in common is they had baggage and were less than great players so it was easy to make them go away.
That is my take.0 -

Kap wanted to start and make starter $. That certainly played a role. That and his talent didn't outweigh the $ and the "baggage". There is no doubt that the kneeling came into play as to whether or not he was in the NFL for some teams, but there were other important factors as well.hippiemom = goodness0 -

2013 Released by Jets.I'll stop belaboring this after I type this, because I don't want to detract from the police brutality issue. However, it does emphasize the fact he was black-balled. In my opinion, he could have started for these teams in 2017. He would have been an upgrade over Mariota and Winston as well, but in 2017 they were still seen as players that hadn't hit their ceilings. Also, I can't put Trubisky in the list either since he was just drafted and they didn't know what they did (or didn't) have in him.Jacksonville (Bortles)Cleveland (Kizer)Denver (Osweiler/Siemian)Miami (Cutler)Buffalo (Taylor)NY Jets (McCown)Minnesota (Keenum)Post edited by Glorified KC onI wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.0 -
