   A black person took a knee and he was kicked out of the league.  It is unfathomable how much people don’t understand and Drew’s statement was just a reminder of how out of touch people are.

black people are upset about racism and police brutality and Drew is upset that someone kneels during the national.  Drew, great guy, but so off the mark on this one.   I hope it wakes people up that their petty anger about kneeling is silly compared to a man being killed with a knee to the neck for nine minutes.

Yet Colin Kapernick expresses his feelings, exercising his first amendment rights and loses his job and gets blacklisted from the NFL and has to sign an NDA as part of a settlement. Then is called a son of a bitch by Team Trump Treason at a public hate rally and has white fans publicly burning his jersey. You better believe the world is upside down. I hope his African American offensive lineman do a purposefully poor job of blocking for him so defensive players can sack his ass and whisper to him what they think about his comments as they get up slowly from the pile. I’m sure there’ll be some Vike and Hawk players happy to oblige. Poor Drew.

Very few people think that way.  Some always will but most don't.  And if they do it's inexcusable.

I asked two of my black friends (one family) and one Mexican friend if any of them took offense to Brees’ comments today. None of them did. I guess some people do and some don’t. I can respect both decisions. After listening to it again, I see how some would take issue with his opening remark.

He was protected for years at Florida but when he got to the NFL he couldn't  keep up.

There is a long history of star college quarterbacks from big time programs i.e. Alabama, USC, Miami, etc that cant cut it in the NFL because they rarely were threatened or had to struggle on the field.

I agree with you. If Patrick Mahomes wants to take a knee next year, he can, because he's that good and no team would care what he did. Kap was a backup when he started his protest. And similar to the circus that came along with Tebow, teams felt "Is this BACKUP worth all the trouble?" Apparently not. If a team thought Kap could help them win, he'd be on a team.

I'll stop belaboring this after I type this, because I don't want to detract from the police brutality issue.  However, it does emphasize the fact he was black-balled.  In my opinion, he could have started for these teams in 2017.  He would have been an upgrade over Mariota and Winston as well, but in 2017 they were still seen as players that hadn't hit their ceilings.  Also, I can't put Trubisky in the list either since he was just drafted and they didn't know what they did (or didn't) have in him.

It probably is off, but I'm still convinced he could have started for a handful of teams.  Even if he was only open to the starting job, teams still could have pursued him as a #2.  I think eventually he would have taken that option.
