I don't actually know, or have even spoken with anyone who cannot decide, but if I did meet such a person, I would entreat them, "Please, get some help in recognizing and dealing with reality."

Well this is chicken shit. Cancelled my subscription.
Washington Post Says It Will Stop Endorsing Presidential Candidates
Will
Lewis, the company’s chief executive, said the paper was “returning to
our roots” of not making endorsements for the office.
I’m very strongly considering it and most likely will. Fuck Bozos.
Yeah, it took me no time at all to make the decision to drop them.
This is no time for anyone who understands what is happening to democracy to chicken out. If generals who are long-time republicans are willing standing up and speak out against the fascist Trump, and are willing to support Harris, so can a paper that is supposedly pro-democracy. The Washington Post has been willing to endorse a presidential candidate since 1976. And they stop NOW? Under their title on their front page is written, "Democracy Dies in Darkness. So in the final week 10 days before the election, they aren't willing to stand up a against the darkness? Screw that. Of all years, they decide to not stand up against fascism and a would-be dictator? To hell with WaPo.

as a non-american, I've always found it very odd that respected media publications endorse anyone at all.
I agree that ideally, news media is best when it is news and news only. But when a publication has had a long history of freely publishing opinion, and that opinion has been pro-democracy, this is just not the year to be suddenly backing out of supporting democracy and not speaking out again fascism. It's odd timing, and my cancelling my subscription is the best way I can voice my opinion about that.
And of course, I would be surprised if an impartial news outlet like AP or Reuters were to endorse a candidate. That would very much surprise me.

I’ve never been a fan of newspapers making endorsements. To be frank. Well I’m Johnny, not Frank. Anyway.
Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24

In their decision to not endorse, they cited the elections of 1952, their first endorsement and then again from 1976 until now, as those two being consequential but now they want to get back to their roots. Fucking weak sauce and they’re okay with facial. Opinion staff were blindsided as they had colleagues collect Pulitzers the night before. Oh, and bozos hired a former Rupert Murdick publisher who ran London tabloids recently. I’ll be canceling.

Apparently several WaPo employees feel the same way. Regardless of whether or not newspaper should endorse, they at least should be consistent. This was a major WaPo fail/
Furor over Washington Post’s decision to not endorse presidential candidate: ‘Stab in the back’, ‘dying in darkness’
Employees outraged at ‘chicken-shit’ move that breaks 30-year precedent, alleging Jeff Bezos quashed Harris support
There was uproar and outrage among the Washington
Post’s current and former staffers and other notable figures in the
world of American media after the newspaper’s leaders on Friday chose to
not endorse any candidate in the US presidential election.
After the news broke, reactions came flooding in, with people criticizing the decision, which, according to some staffers and reporters, was allegedly made by the Post’s owner, billionaire Jeff Bezos.
“What
an insult to those of us who have literally put our careers and lives
on the line, to call out threats to human rights and democracy,” she
added.
In a statement, the union representing editorial staff and reporters at the Washington Post expressed that they were “deeply concerned” by the decision “especially a mere 11 days ahead of an immensely consequential election”.
“The
role of an Editorial Board is to do just this: to share opinions on the
news impacting our society and culture and endorse candidates to help
guide readers,” the statement reads.
It also
concerns that “management interfered with the work of our members in
Editorial” they said, adding that according to the newspapers reporters
and staffers, an endorsement for the vice-president, Kamala Harris, had already been drafted, and the decision to not publish was made by Bezos.
The union added that since the decision was announced, they are “already seeing cancellations from once loyal readers” and Semafor reported that in the 24 hours ending on Friday afternoon, about 2,000 subscribers had already canceled their subscriptions.
In a statement on X, Marty Baron, the former executive editor of the Washington Post, called the paper’s decision “cowardice, with democracy as its casualty”.
Donald Trump,
Baron said, would “see this as an invitation to further intimidate the
owner” of the Washington Post – Bezos. “Disturbing spinelessness at an
institution famed for courage”, Baron added.
David Maraniss, a Pulitzer-winning reporter and editor at the Post, added: “The paper I’ve loved working at for 47 years is dying in darkness.”
Another former editor at the paper, Robert McCartney, said: “Given the choice this year, it’s appalling.”
Multiple outlets have also reported that Robert Kagan, the newspaper’s editor at large, has decided to resign from the editorial board following the announcement of the paper not to endorse in the presidential race.
Susan Rice, the former US ambassador to the United Nations and former domestic policy adviser for the Biden administration, called the decision “hypocritical”.
“So much for ‘Democracy Dies in Darkness’,” she said, referring to the newspaper’s official slogan, adopted in 2017
under Bezos’s ownership. “This is the most hypocritical, chicken-shit
move from a publication that is supposed to hold people in power to
account.”
On Friday afternoon, “Democracy Dies
in Darkness” and “WaPo” were trending on X, and NPR’s media
correspondent, David Folkenflik, was reporting that “the furor” at the Washington Post was so much that its chief tech officer was getting engineers to block questions from readers about its decision to not make an endorsement.

What irritates me, is that in this blatant plutocracy we're seeing rise up, is that we the people are the ones who suffer the most. I have really respected and enjoyed WaPo's journalism over the years, especially after I got fed up with NYT. What we’re seeing though is billionaires pulling the strings and dictating what the American people can rely on. Musk bought and torpedoed Twitter and Bezos is seemingly doing the same to WaPo. We know that cancelations won't hurt his bottom line, but it could destroy the quality of journalism we have access to. I am one of the thousands who canceled my subscription, although I did so after careful consideration today because I want them to get past this moment, but I fear it's too late hearing that Bezos personally squashed this. I'm not sure how we get out of this cycle of billionaires ruling every aspect of our daily lives.
Why do so many people want a fake billionaire for president who has no interest in improving the day to day life of working class Americans? These farmers for Trump clearly are not paying attention to who this man is and how he will continue to exploit this country for his own gain.

cult of personality. and not just on the right. it's just currently the most visible example. too many people on this planet think celebrities are somehow special. they love being part of something that includes someone they attach some fake attributes to.
I don't think we'll ever be able to go back. It's too far gone. And not just the US; Canada to a lesser extent, look at the british and their obsession with the royals; most sane people know it's all fucking absurd. But too many are caught up in it.
Even look at us, to a degree: many of us go apeshit if we meet someone in this band. And why? are they special in some way? not really. they are normal human beings. they have jobs that are creative in a different way than ours are. But we attribute something special to them because what they create is special to us, and therefor, it makes us feel part of that specialty.

You know what would be really interesting right about now? After reading about Trump's Nazi rally It would be really interesting to see someone post on these boards that they still intend to vote for Trump. That would be really... umm... interesting.

Well, shit, decisions decisions. I'm one of these 250,000:
In
response, readers voted with their wallets. As of this writing, more
than 250,000 have canceled their subscriptions. While my initial
reaction was to do the same, perhaps we all should pause for a moment
and consider the consequences of a weakened Washington Post.
There’s certainly a desire to hit ‘em where it hurts, but canceling
subscriptions is less than lunch money for a man worth more than $200
billion. Instead, a subscriber exodus will hurt the hardworking
reporters and staff at the paper, which just went through a round of
layoffs and cutbacks.
To defund one of America’s last great journalistic institutions would do a disservice to its readers, and to our country. The Post
reporters and editors are damn good at what they do. They are among
America’s best, especially when it comes to fearless investigative
reporting. We need a healthy, vibrant news business to keep check on the
likes of Donald Trump, who would dearly love fewer reporters digging
into his actions and exposing his lies.

There was uproar and outrage among the Washington Post’s current and former staffers and other notable figures in the world of American media after the newspaper’s leaders on Friday chose to not endorse any candidate in the US presidential election.
The newspaper’s publisher, Will Lewis, announced on Friday that for the first time in over 30 years, the paper’s editorial board would not be endorsing a candidate in this year’s presidential election, nor in future presidential elections.
After the news broke, reactions came flooding in, with people criticizing the decision, which, according to some staffers and reporters, was allegedly made by the Post’s owner, billionaire Jeff Bezos.
Karen Attiah, a columnist for the Washington Post who writes a weekly newsletter, called the decision an “absolute stab in the back”.
“What an insult to those of us who have literally put our careers and lives on the line, to call out threats to human rights and democracy,” she added.
In a statement, the union representing editorial staff and reporters at the Washington Post expressed that they were “deeply concerned” by the decision “especially a mere 11 days ahead of an immensely consequential election”.
