    Biden
I know I'm biased, but I feel like Biden is having a strong week, negating any positives coming from the RNC.
Good speech in Pitt with good press
    Good poll numbers, generally
Wisconsin trip was good, with him doing and saying the right things.
Trump was Trump, which is usually good for us.
  • The sources of the Atlantic article need to come out.  If that is true then the military leaders need to address this.

My guess is that Kelly is one of the sources although he declined comment.

Those ex military guys are doing their country a great disservice by staying silent.
You need to watch Rachel Madcow from last night. She had on a former reporter from Stars & Stripes who within 40 minutes of the Atlantic article tweeted that every allegation in the article as reported, is true. He has deep connections and relationships in the military and pentagon from being a Stars and Stripes reporter for years. She also had on someone else who had heard the reporting personally from the sources. But she also spoke to the bizarre pathology of Team Trump Treason’s military aversion. It’s really bizarre.

Crazy....I hope they are vocal today.  I was just reading about some funding cuts to Stars and Stripes.  Probably because tRump heard that military folks preferred Biden in that poll of theirs.

Team Trump Treason threatened Donny. Jr. with being cut out of the will/estate if he joined the military and his pre-nup with Marla Maples had a clause where he wouldn't pay out if their marriage failed and she joined the military or Peace Corps. Makes you wonder what the hell is going on inside his head as it relates to the military. But like everything else about him, his "love" of the military is fake. He's a threat to our national security and the higher ups in the military know this. But they're part of the Deep State.

While I share your bias, in theory, I'm obviously biased the other way some...

I think he's had a solid week, as well, at least qualitatively.  He still seems old, since he is, but he's not nearly as "foot in the grave" as I thought he'd be. If he can keep this up, that's a good thing. He waited for the actual president to do his Wisconsin song-and-dance so as not to get in his way and visited afterward. Was it PR?  Yeah, but that doesn't negate it from being rooted in true concern and compassion. The DNC did a great job of humanizing him and when you look at those kinds of human traits, it should be obvious to everyone which guy cares and which guy is a miserable, loathsome human being.

If the whole "where's Joe?" BS can be done away with and he can continue to hit Trump with some force while mixing in character and actual plans, he'll be moving in the right direction.

Between the devotion of the followers and the not-even-veiled cheating, I don't feel confident, but Biden is doing what he can do fairly well at this point.

The plan was always to lie low until the convention and then hit the road.  So I think he's in good shape for November.  Trump and team continue to insult him,  thereby lowering the bar for him to exceed.  This is true about his age, his cognitive abilities, his speaking and 'hiding in the basement'.  You even had the same thought with your 'foot in the grave' comment.  Now did you get that from watching him in teh debates?  Or was it from Trump, far left wing during the primaries, etc.?  I think his first debate was rusty, but after that he was really strong. And he took the brunt of the body blows.

I got that from times I watched him; particularly a 15-second ad on YouTube where he asks for time/money. He seemed incredibly old.  It made me nervous as hell...

The Pentagon has ordered Stars and Stripes to shut down for no good reason

Trump wants to pull funding from Stars and Stripes, a newspaper for American troops that began in the Civil War and has been serving our soldiers.

I'm only halfway through, but goddamnit, @brianlux, i wish the populace was so much more interested in substance rather than personality, that each candidate got equal airtime to give their platforms, because motherfucker, andrew yang is the future. or he should have been.

he's done the research. he knows his stuff. he's so much more intelligent than any presidential candidate i've ever seen.

but no, we're stuck with the establishment and the orange turd.

what a missed opportunity. we need smart people in office, not dynamic people. i hope one day soon everyone wakes up and realizes it.

Damn straight, my friend!  How can you go wrong with MATH?  Make America Think Harder.  Not only is Yang one smart dude,  he's personable, cares a lot for people, reputed to be a great dad, and he sets a great example.  And he's young enough to have a least a couple goes at running for president.  We NEED this kind of hope.

I'll be wearing my MATH pin tomorrow to acknowledge your awesome post, buddy!

Well I think he's $1000/month to all americans idea was a dumb one to attach yourself to at this moment.  Political suicide...and it worked out that way.

Now - is their validity to the argument that warrants discussion...sure.
it's because people didn't understand it. when you have that many candidates, it is simply too exhausting to try to understand everyone's full platform, and the reasons behind it, and then when you have the media basically deciding who gets the most airtime, he was dead in the water. he wasn't dramatic enough. he wasn't getting attacked by trump, so he didn't get any attention.

Biden needs to hit the road a lot more and figure out a way to have voters in attendance. He needs to hammer the six swing states plus a couple states trump almost won like MN.

And when Biden goes to one of the  six swing states, like he did with PA, he needs to stop “pulling a Hillary” and visit liberal enclaves. He spoke in Pittsburgh. He needs to go to swing areas of swing states. Campaigning in  Pitt or philly or Miami is like doing it in NY. Go to the red regions outside of Pitt.

sure some of that will help GOTV but Biden needs to communicate with parts of the country with the trump signs and pull down some of that vote. Try to lose 65/35 as opposed to 80/20. That’s what made Obama genius.

Yeah I don't think I agree with you.  He went to a working class  part of Pitt, in western PA. That's not really a liberal enclave.  It's not like he spoke at Carnegie Mellon. There's no point in going to a rural county.  You still have to go where people live which is generally going to be urban areas.  The question is where in the urban areas do you go.

Perhaps the best week of the campaign, thus far for Biden. Agreed, mrussell. Feeling good heading into the last two months...

I'm surprised someone hasn't already done this, but I think would be easy to prove or disprove Trump's excuse in France. Check the weather for that day, have an expert say if they would recommend a helicopter flight or not. That would pretty much shoot this story down or Trump's version.

Why can't it be both? Bad weather as a public excuse as well as the comments?

Because didn't the source say the reason he didn't go was because they were "losers", not because of weather? If that's not the case, then you'd be correct.

Just looked it up: "Citing four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day, The Atlantic reported that the President was reluctant to pay a visit to the cemetery in France honoring slain American soldiers because of concerns that his hair would become disheveled in the rain."

So rainy weather, yes, but no mention of helicopter not being able to fly, in fact this implies it could fly and he didnt want to ruin his hair.

Yeah, I mean, that already happened. The weather was described as "light rain", and on the west coast I sure see the helijets flying in the rain - they're the more reliable transportation when the little harbour to harbour float planes can't fly. But the WH can always use the "we don't want to take any chances" excuse.

There was always the car option.

I haven't seen that. If it was light rain and deemed safe to fly, then Trump would have no excuse.

I believe when Team Trump Treason was asked why he hadn’t gone to the cemetery by the press around the time of the event, he said that the weather prevented the helicopter from flying and the secret service refused to drive him there because they couldn’t secure the motorcade route. Later, the press contacted the secret service to confirm Team Trump Treason’s excuse and they denied both by saying they could have flown or driven. Team Trump Treason got caught in a lie.

He also has a motorcade.  I'm fairly certain the roads weren't closed. The fact remains that he didn't attend.  There is no disputing that.
  • As much as it was an embarrassment and dishonorable as CIC that he didn't visit the cemetery, it was also a snub to NATO or the EU leaders who were present as well for a Veterans Day memorialization. 11/11 is a much bigger deal in that part of the world. .

White House memo seeks list of federal trainings that refer to ‘white privilege’

“The President has directed me to ensure that federal agencies cease and desist from using taxpayer dollars to fund these divisive, un-American propaganda training sessions,” the memo states.

Vought writes in the memo that “it has come to the President’s attention that Executive Branch agencies have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to date ‘training’ government workers to believe divisive, anti-American propaganda.”

He then refers to a press report that says federal employees “have been required to attend trainings where they are told that ‘virtually all White people contribute to racism’ or where they are required to say that they ‘benefit from racism.’"

It could not immediately be learned what training sessions Vought was referring to in the memo. Recent Fox News segments have heavily criticized “diversity and inclusion” efforts in the federal government started under the Obama administration.

“It’s absolutely astonishing how critical race theory has pervaded every institution in the federal government,” Chris Rufo, research fellow at the right-wing Discovery Institute, told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson earlier this week.

The memo later says that “the President, and his Administration, are fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the United States.”

The memo comes after Trump has put himself at the center of an intense national debates about race, politics tactics, the Civil War, and the Confederate flag. Democrats have long taken aim at Trump’s comments about race, including his false assertion that President Obama was not born in the United States.

And this year, after numerous Black Lives Matter protests occurred around the country following incidents when certain police officers killed or shot Black Americans, Trump has sharply criticized social justice protesters and called for law enforcement to crack down hard.

OMB said it would soon issue more guidance on the crackdown of these training sessions.

Retired military, many 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation and Gold Star families are pissed. This is going to follow Team Trump Treason into and through the debates and up to Election Day. Look for heavy advertising regarding this issue in markets with a high % of military, both active duty and retired. Places like NC, FL, NV, VA, etc. His past comments are going to get lots of air time.
