An Orange County (CA) beach this weekend was pretty crowded. I believe that is the same state and county as Dana Point. There’s hope for Ohana yet.  Still 5 months away.
yeah, Doheny State beach is in Dana Point, CA.  Which is in Orange County.
Exactly, this is what I'm thinking too. It's still 5 long months out, and the OC does things the OC way, that's the only thing we got going for us for this show to go on. If this was in LA County, I doubt it would go on. But with masks and temperature checks, we can do this!

It’s not the be all / end all, but some encouraging news today on one of the trial drugs maybe having some benefit.

I continue to hope that final decisions on these festivals wait a few more weeks just in case one or more of these drugs prove to really make a difference.

Obviously if there remains a material public health risk the show cannot proceed.  But it would be a shame to cancel now, and then let’s say in June it is discovered there’s a drug that really works against this virus.

Gavin is the man. Cuomo/Newsom 2020.

That being said, any drug or vaccine they come up with would still need trials. I’m not taking something now that might give me rotting ass cancer in 3 years. Not to mention the mass production and distribution. We are a long way out from concerts. I’ve accepted no more live music this year. I got to see Author and Punisher open for Tool. I got to see Hepa-Titus and The Cunts open up for the Melvins at a small club. If those are the only two shows I see this year I still had a kick ass year. At least we have kick ass new Pearl Jam music and Fiona Apple’s masterpiece to soothe the ears right now.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

You’re misreading the news. Fauci was clear that the success of remdesivir has no impact at all on relaxing social distancing. It is great news that there is a treatment showing promise for people who are hospitalized. That has nothing to do with concerts returning.

And it’s now breaking tonight that Newsom will announce he is stepping in on the beach issue and he will order all CA beaches closed tomorrow.

Yep, as predicted, OC does things the OC way, and Newsom does things the Newsom way - and overrides OC.
90,000 morons at Newport Beach last weekend?
    This was so predictable.

Europe tour was postponed 2.5 months before it was to start and a factor had to be all the international travel it would have required.  All I’m saying is wait until June/July to decide on these fall festivals in case something improves.  No need to call it before that.  That’s it, that’s all.

I live 5 hours from Dana Point. It’s not going to happen. Refund those who want refunds and carry over tickets to those who want to hold on. California will not have events this year. Except the reality or your just going to be disappointed. A lot more people than Live Nation or Ticketmaster could use that money right now and to hold cash hostage is complete bullshit. The writing is on the wall.

    No, but they should.
Especially since they ass shafted many of us who paid extra for their shitty ticket system for night one at MSG when that was the only show it one of two.
Next thing you know they add twelve shows (hyperbole, I know) and now I could buy a ticket way better than the one I bought for half price
Screw them for their ticket pricing system and adding more shows after the fact.
    They are the machine.

Cancel - there is no chance they play at MSG in August.

I’m not saying it impacts the odds of Ohana (it doesn’t) but it’s interesting that Dana Point is taking Newsom to court on the beach issue.  I don’t have a horse in this particular race so will keep my view of who is right to myself.

THERE WILL BE NO OHANA THIS YEAR....OC beaches can take the gov to court all they want but that's just tough. NO CONCERTS, NO SPORTS IN PERSON, NO THEATER this year. Just deal with it, you people who are holding on to hope....

There’s no need to yell.  People are entitled to hope for whatever they want to hope for, until such time as the show is officially postponed or cancelled.  And then, people can hope for whatever new thing they want to.  That’s the beauty of hope.

Please clarify what you mean by negative. If you mean people looking at a horrible situation and thinking realistically, I wouldn’t call them negative. I would say these people including myself have been watching what’s going on and see the writing on the wall. Could things change? Yes, in either direction. But at the current way California is going, it is not a possibility. Nor is it a possibility that even is events do resume, the same number of people will be able to attend due to social distancing polices or economic circumstances.

The first band to cancel will not be the first band to resume playing large shows.  They will obviously not be playing any shows this year and shouldn't.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
