As of right now we are still planning on going to Ottawa/Quebec City. Hotel cancellation deadlines are on the 17th and 18th so plenty of time, Not sure how late the VIA rate or Delta cancellations will go.

Not worried about tickets selling if we don't go, they're great (GA Ottawa / front row risers sidestage in Quebec City) and will move.

Will see how things unfold this next week.  We will have masks on for the shows most likely.

That virus really stung a hornets nest there, most victims are elderly with pre-existing conditions

I’ve been watching videos on twitter of Australians fighting in supermarket aisles over toilet paper.

I've worked in grocery stores for over 25 years and never seen it like this.  Pure panic buying at this point.

I heard that on the news yesterday ... unbelievable  :s

If those 133 people caught the flu I wonder what the odds of dying would be.  I know it wouldn't be low but that is what is yet to be estimated.  Everyone points to the flu being worse, but conveniently leave out that Coronavirus hasn't spread as much as the flu.

It must be tough for old people.  No one gives a shit about them.  If this virus killed kids there would be a full on panic.

I don’t think that’s true. Everyone‘s concerned about their older parents and grandparents. I‘ve literally just lectured my granddad on what he is and isn’t allowed to do.
It’s just the cold hard reality that viruses get weaker folk first. Emphasizing that trying to put things in context doesn’t mean no one cares

I understand, but the when the weak are old people they gets stuck in the old people die bucket versus everyone all in to save the kids.

We all care about the old people in our lives.

what happened to the fun we were having with song titles?
Truth in this country: Nursing facilities are understaffed and underpreparted for a spread of a virus (EXACTLY what happend at Life Care Center in Kirkland). Not enough PPE, training, time...so the "old people" (and I wonder what some of you cut off the age for old) are left at the hands of fate.

WHO report from Wuhan: ""Although the respirator group encountered confirmed cases more often than the unmasked group — more than 730% more often — no one in the respirator group became infected.

In comparison, 10 people in the unmasked group contracted the novel disease, despite treating fewer infected patients.

"It would appear that N95 respirators, no surprise, protect against health care acquisition of the virus," said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious-diseases specialist at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee"

n95 masks are highly effective at preventing infection for the wearer.

Most people I’ve discussed this with say something like “it only kills you if you’re old,” as if that makes it insignificant.  I’m sure a lot of people in their 60s, 70s and 80s that died from this felt they had a lot of life to live. It’s a shame. You’re right though. If kids were as susceptible, the panic meter would have blown up by now.
