Pfizer directly contradicted him with a statement immediately.
yes they did, but it won't matter. millions will still believe that:
a) this is trump's win b) pfizer delayed the announcement until after the election on purpose to let biden win
in today's day, a response is nothing but pissing in the wind. once the first incendiary claim is out there, that monster is invincible.
I would agree with you on A. But the timing is too good for there not to be some truth behind B. It’s not like these things happen over night, they could have made the announcement a week earlier.Maybe it was more to spite Trump than help Biden, or to keep him from taking credit. But the timing is too perfect to not be suspect.
Maybe the board at Pfizer took a look at 135,000 cases a day and said * *
Maybe the board at Pfizer took a look at deaths climbing to 1400 a day and said * *
Maybe the board at Pfizer took a look at refrigerated trucks being rushed to places like El Paso and Utah to store all the dead bodies and said * *
Maybe the board at Pfizer took a look at all the lies and blatant disregard for public health that an idiotic 47% in this country approved of and said * *
* * = use imagination.
22% if you are talking total population, 31% if you are talking electorate and this is assuming all of those who voted for him also approved his handling of the pandemic. This “half of the country“ nonsense needs to stop, constantly spewing this on every issue is not a good look for either side. Same with saying all democrats or all republicans are "xyz". It is lazy and sending a dangerous message to those who are not yet wise enough to realize everything they read on the internet is not true. People can create change much faster than any government and right now I just see two factions taking every shot they can at each other thinking that they speak for the rest of us while doing it.

the CEO of pfizer addressed this and said they couldn't announce anything until they hit a certain number of covid infections in the study, and then anazlyze it. they simply didn't hit that number until after the election. it's all in the data.
Rounding the curve sideways, wondering when we hit the wall? Anyone seen or heard from the chairperson of the Covid Task Force? Is he in witness protection? How about the asleep HUD Secretary?
We all need to prepare for a second trump term.
LOL. Not going to happen.
i can't see it either. once he gets back to his day to day bullshit of doing nothing but golfing and eating and living the high life, slowly the ego issue of losing will go away. i can't imagine why a guy like him would want to spend his possible remaining years in office. we know why biden did it. but trump doesn't have to.
but with trump, you simply never know.
it's just hard to know what the state of his popularity will be in 4 years. maybe his cultists will move on, maybe it will grow. who knows. i guess it depends if he gets banned from twitter, which i think is a high possibility.
The fact that the Pfizer vaccine needs to be kept at -70oC throughout the distribution chain is concerning. This will definitely cause serious wrinkles in the supply, even for those of us who live in major population centres. It will be next to impossible to provide to remote communities, including First Nations communities, and in much of the less developed world. We have to hope that other efficacious vaccines that don't require such complex storage capacity come on line soon.

I read they plan to pack and store with dry ice, but even then only lasts like 48 hours or something. So it’s definitely going to make it difficult.
got word today that some hospitals in mid missouri are shutting down elective surgeries due to too many inpatients with covid.
well done, govnah.
How about the hospitals that are keeping staff to work even though they’ve tested positive! Unreal every single state in this country had increases in cases today every single state 🤢

it is not that fucking hard!
americans absolutely refuse to get a handle on this.
the new spike is about 2 weeks post halloween, so i guarantee this is going to continue.

I would love to see a survey regarding the political affiliation of those infected with Covid-19.
i would too. i have an idea how it would skew, but i know some pretty progressive people that had gotten it early on before fauci recommended masks.
my teammate's dad and sister tested positive last week. fortunately i have not been around him for about 10 days and he has tested negative since his family tested positive.

Fantasizing about a political dunk is an appalling way to approach a pandemic. When all is said and done, it will have torn through every type of community imaginable. No one has had an easy time - even sparsely populated areas are spiking right now. You want to find a common theme? Our most vulnerable populations - the elderly and indigent.

I did read some statistical reporting on the correlation of covid numbers and states Trump won. It wasn't good. I just don’t remember the numbers or the source, but the info is out there
Our local Boys and Girls Club, who have been hosting students whose parents need to work during the day, just shut down for two weeks because of an outbreak. One of my students is waiting on his test results.
Seems to me that the only ones openly disregarding mask wearing and screaming about opening back up and returning to "normal," were repub governors, up until Sleepy Woke Joe Basement Biden won, anyway because some of them have now changed their tune. Further, the red states saw what happened in the blue states and could have totally avoided the extent of the shit show they're facing now, but for kissing the ass of their dear leader, Team Trump Treason Tax Cheat. Being critical of those who openly mocked and delegitimized a necessary response to a pandemic is not the same as "snarkily wondering aloud if more Trump voters caught it." Facts are facts and I believe that counties that voted Team Trump Treason Tax Cheat have higher infection and positivity rates. But its because they're doing more testing. Sheesh, I can't wait for science and facts to be relevant again in the Executive Branch.

Are you serious that staff are being permitted (or required) to work when still testing positive? What are the parameters for that?

As far as I’m concerned, those ass kissers are just doing it now to tank the economy to stick it to Biden. “Caring” now isn’t a get out of jail free card. Complicit trash, all of them.
You wanna know what privelege is? Seeing 1.3 million deaths to date and snarkily wondering aloud if more Trump voters caught it.
yup...
You really want to know what privilege is? It’s being a local “leader” or governor and openly stating that you won’t abide by or enforce whatever covid response restrictions are communicated by your elected representatives and leaders. You know what else is privilege? Dismissing 240,000+ dead Americans because complicit assholes are still crying about their freedumb. What’s it going to take for repubs to wake the fuck up and get on board with the science? 400K dead by Christmas? A mil, mil and a half? Or oh well, everyone dies someday anyway? What a shit hole country.

Seeing the spike in cases and hospitalizations gets my ire. Plus, they think I’m a trump fan

jared and trump heard that the virus was impacting blue states more than red states and decided to do nothing to try to contain it. so you can spare the lecture.
"Most troubling of all, perhaps, was a sentiment the expert said a member of Kushner’s team expressed: that because the virus had hit blue states hardest, a national plan was unnecessary and would not make sense politically. “The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert.
That logic may have swayed Kushner. “It was very clear that Jared was ultimately the decision maker as to what [plan] was going to come out,” the expert said."

yes. hospital workers that test positive can continue to work unless they have a fever or new symptoms. they are supposed to get their temperature checked several times throughout their shift when they have a known positive test.
pretty fucked up, eh?

Do they regularly test or just when they show symptoms? Most are just required to test if they start to feel bad or have a fever, so there are plenty asymptomatic people with allergies sneezing it around like nobody’s business right now at most places of employment. They aren’t getting tested because it’s “just allergies”, yet the public saturation with this virus is growing daily...exponentially. I’ll definitely be dodging sneezers “like they have the plague (pun intended)” any way I can right now!
