Riverfront times or St.louis post dispatch GO section will have best of list up on their sites I’d imagine. Google those for good food or nightlife options.0

Anyone that has transportation and time I also have to recommend my favorite bar in STL...O' Connells Pub. Its on the outskirts of The Hill right off of highway 44. Best burger in town. Its dark, old school with awesome food. I highly recommend a pint of guinness and a burger!0

St. Louis is such an underrated US city! It kinda flies under the radar compared to other US cities, but in my opinion it's awesome! I'm from the United Kingdom, but my girlfriend is a St. Louisan born and bred, and I love visiting! Anyone visiting for the gig, be sure to try the local delicacies - toasted ravioli (great bar snack), St. Louis style pizza and Urban Chestnut Beer! Before the gig the Irish themed bar called Maggie O'Brien's on Market Street (short walk from Enterprise Center) has a great vibe and decent T-Ravs!
If you are there for the weekend and have not been before, take time to walk around the National Park surrounding the Gateway Arch and Mississippi River and take some cool photos! And although it's a touristy thing to do, the arch is well worth a rickety tram ride to the top for the fabulous view from America's tallest monument!
It's a fantastic sports town.... and the great thing about an April gig is that both the Cardinals and Blues are active. And although it's very much a wonderfully traditionally Cardinals baseball town (and rightly so!!), at the moment I'd 100% recommend going to see a Blues hockey game.... they have been ON FIRE for the last 12 months and the city is going crazy for them. The atmosphere at Blues hockey games right now is off the charts!!
Forest Park (a short drive out of downtown) is worth a visit as it has lot of free attractions including the art museum and zoo (which is one of the best zoos in the country). The City Museum which is downtown is quirky and wonderful - I highly recommend a visit there if you have time - It's seriously like a playground for adults, and like no other museum you've ever been to! Delmar Boulevard (University City Loop) is also highly recommended - Probably the most famous street in St. Louis. It's a tiny bit out of downtown (but only a short cab ride),and is a great area for bars, restaurants and general hanging out and stuff to do. Chuck Berry's restaurant/bar (Blueberry Hill) is there, as well as Fitz's (good for root beer and wings!!), and also Vintage Vinyl - one of my favourite record stores in the world!
So for anyone visiting who wants to have a few days being a tourist, this is from a British person who gets to be a tourist there once a year and thinks STL is pretty cool! :-DPost edited by CornishMan onLondon #1 2000, Reading 2006, London 2007, London 2009, London 2010, Manchester #1 2012, Manchester #2 2012, Manchester 2012 (EV), Milton Keynes 2014, London #2 2017 (EV), London #1 2018, London #2 2018, London #1 2022, London #2 2022, Manchester 2024.0 -

I'd recommend going west to the STL suburbs (like Chesterfield) before I went to Illinois or out by the airport. The Cards have a day game but parking should mostly clear out before the concert crowd rolls in if you rent a car and drive. On a Saturday you can drive from Chesterfield to the arena in 20-25 minutes or so. There's a full service Marriott, several Hilton properties and a nice Drury Inn. I'd assume the weekend rates won't be bad as the hotels out west are mostly geared towards business travelers. Another option would be the casinos in St. Charles - lots of rooms and I'd assume good rates. If you are planning on taking the metrolink it'll be fine on the way to the show but can be really crowded afterwards. If it were me I'd stay out west at a nicer hotel for a lower rate and drive/uber rather than overpaying to stay close. It's opening weekend for the Cards so the downtown hotels will be pretty expensive.0
