The metrolink is usually safe after events but the tradeoff is you may have to wait awhile for a train.  Definitely has more than its share of incidents over the past several months but typically there is safety in numbers.  With the Cardinals at home that weekend downtown should be buzzing.
Thank you!  Any idea how far it is from Drury Inn and Suites Convention Center?

I'm staying at the Pear Tree Inn.  Looks like a 15 minute walk from venue to hotel.  Any reason for concern walking back to the hotel after the show?

Once we start getting some suggestions, I’ll put them all together (along with the ones already made in this thread) and add them to the first post

I'm not a local, but have been to downtown St Louis twice in the last 6 months, so I can say that Sugarfire BBQ downtown is fantastic.

    Sounds nice.

Caricatures may depict a machine-gun-toting thug on every corner, but the sad reality is that the city is mostly desolate. Virtually every block is dotted with boarded-up or burned-out buildings.“

My wife and I actually almost made that mistake.   I wanted to walk across the bridge to Illinois.  Thank god at that moment the bartender asked if I wanted another ipa.

I’m not local but am couple hours away and a Cardinal fan so i get down there a few times a year. Sugarfire is a great place to eat for sure. Ballpark Village next to Busch Stadium is like 1 giant bar with a bunch of other smaller bars. Down from the stadium is the Broadway Oyster Bar with 1 or 2 other bars right there, saw a cool WSP cover band at one of them in like a patio setting. Soulard is a cool area not far from downtown, Social House is a pretty popular bar in that area. STL is like any other bigger city, it has it’s bad areas but like someone else said with the Cardinals game and PJ show all on a Saturday night downtown will be full of people and wherever you’re walking to you’ll most likely be in a group of people.

We are staying here as well and am interested in learning more about the area/hotel. This is the Union Station one...seemed nice enough based on reviews...
