Just booked an Airbnb in Lasalle Park area. Hopefully it’s nice and reviews said it was “walkable” to lots of stuff. If not short Uber. It was 109 a night for 2 bedroom place. First time to St Louis, can’t wait. Also looking forward to Cardinals game. Only bummer is airfare went way up the last couple days from San Diego. Oh well :)

I did Hotwire and got HoteLumiere for $300 for two nights. Also booked cancellation insurance in case I do not score tickets for some reason. Place seems close to the Metro rail system or whatever it is called there.

We're gonna party in Alton over the weekend. 35 minuted from the venue. BW for 84 for the night with my work discount.
Probably have to make a run-up to Grafton as well.

Alton is great river town! Grafton as well!

I live in STL. Don’t know much about the hotels but definitely know about the areas. If you don’t mind a short (10-15 minute) Uber ride don’t be afraid to go west a little. The University City loop area is awesome.  Tons of great restaurants and bars plus a cool record store (vintage vinyl). Clayton is higher end area but also has nice restaurants. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer.

Is the north end of Lasalle Park decent? I’m hoping it’s walking distance to some restaurants and bars. Thanks so much.

Im at Courtyard by Marriot St. Louis Downtown West.  2 nights $382.49 total.  Stayed there before and nice and clean.  We walked to Busch Stadium and passed Enterprise Center on the way.

Yes cool area although I don’t make it there too often. Soulard is nearby and that’s a really cool area with a great vibe as well. Tons of great food and bars.

    Oh
    Ya forget to add this

This message is for all the folks traveling in STL. that weekend -- particularly if you planning on outdoor site seeing, walking to the show etc...
The weather in STL can turn on a dime --- It can easily be 80's and sunny and 1 hr. later 30 and snow, especially in April

NO sh*t I've lived here my whole life

    Peace

You need to try toasted ravioli when in St. Louis: killer.  Also went to bogart s for bbq, I am not an expert on bbq but it was best ribs I have ever had in my life.  We stayed at the drury inn right near the arch; it was a great hotel.

Pappy's Smokehouse is some good bbq as well.

Booked at Missouri Athletic Club a few weeks ago a bit cheaper.  I have 4 separate reservations there with a different combo of arrival and departure dates until I hammer out a game plan.  Did similar in Oklahoma City  but I may remove it from my choices because of funds.  No need for a hotel in Baltimore since I live there, but my home show odds concern me most!

I was at the Hyatt Regency at the arch in 2014 and I would recommend it. It's a block over from the Drury and about a 20 minute walk from the venue. I wouldn't be nervous about walking that far downtown at night either. It was clean and safe in 2014 and I didn't get any funny business from anyone. I don't remember the pricing but I'm sure it was reasonable. I probably used Hotwire back then. Not sure what I'll do now, or if I'll even stay there again.

Maggie O'Brien's was where the Wishlist party has been in prior years, so that is an option. It's about 3 blocks up the street. But if you aren't getting there until 1.5 hours before, that place will be packed and getting food will take a while. So my suggestion is more of a warning I suppose.

Booked Homewood Suites Galleria.  5 minute walk to metrolink.

Does anyone local know if this is good place and or time it takes to get to show from here?

The metrolink drops of at the arena, so hotels along its path are good options.   I know the river boat on east side of river (casino queen, I think) has a hotel with a metro station next door.   However it’s not the nicest place to lay you head.

The already mentioned Loop area is a great place to kill an evening, bars, music, food.
If your in town for a day or so extra go to the zoo (truly world class and free) or visit the city museum (trippy place, likely to see Jim James there when MMJ is in town too).  They have a blues museum thats a good time also.

If they try to tell you Imos is the greatest pizza the town has to offer, and they will, pass.

Anybody know the Hotel Indigo?  It seems newly opened and so has very few reviews, but I can get a discounted rate and a potential room upgrade and so I'm tempted...

Also, as we're from the UK and also hitting the Nashville show would it be better to split our time equally between St Louis and Nashville, or to favour one over the other?

I booked a room at the Hilton at the Ballpark. I hope there's somewhere to park. I'll be getting there around when a Cardinals game is going on.

I've never been in person, but I order frozen pizzas from IMO's and ship them to Ohio. They use provel cheese which I enjoy. My brother-in-law turned me onto it. I'm sure a local may have better recommendations.
