Excited - I’m there, but been there, done that.tempo_n_groove said:JimmyV said:tempo_n_groove said:NDJeff7 said:Not sure I've seen this mentioned, but even though Fenway was enjoyable last year, the curfew really took away from both shows. The encores felt rushed and 3-4 songs got scratched each night. Once we got past 10pm you could see Ed checking the clock on the side of the stage. I'd much rather see them in an arena where there isn't a hard 10:30 curfew.
Tickets said 6:30 for a reason. Bands that play Fenway often start earlier than they do in other venues. PJ has struggled with that.
THIS GUY!!! lol
I feel like they came out much earlier in 2016, but I may be wrong. I know it was still pretty sunny out but it was also 3.5 weeks earlier.0 -
My excitement is tempered by the ticket prices, not the possible venues. Gone are the days of going to 4-6 shows,a) because they don't play as many nearby me, and b) the prices are too much for me to justify over and over.
As for venues, I will take a ballpark over a "shed" any day of the year. Even for faraway seats. I was in the upper deck in Philly for The Who this past May and it sounded fantastic up there. I haven't been to a shed show in a long time and hope to never go to one again. I am also down for arena shows.

Partially covered amphitheaters - Saratoga, Camden, etc.

Excited - I’m there, but been there, done that.My only problem with sheds is that they aren't particularly convenient. Mansfield, for example, is a pain to get in and out of. Plus, there are no bars or restaurants around for pregaming. Tailgating can be fun but nothing beats a few drinks in a fun bar right across the street from the venue.

money and days off work available..and i go whereever the band can plug in and play a show.
1) Can I get the time off work
2) Can I take my family or is it an ok time to be away
3) Do I have the $
If I have 3 Yes's....I'll be there no matter the type of venue. Though I guess for some venues I will work harder at getting a yes for #1 or #2.Post edited by cincybearcat onhippiemom = goodness0 -

If my math is correct, since 2014 PJ has played/scheduled 63 international dates and 41 US dates. These numbers include the upcoming Europe tour. Also, excluded the Rock and roll hall of fame show.

I'm one of the louder crybabies that say they never play enough USA shows and when they do it's too many stadiums.
But you are carving out the rather large 2013 USA tour and the rumored 2020 Fall US Tour from that analysis
To be fair I think we need to include the 2013 and possible upcoming Fall US dates . The result would be much more usa dates IIRC0 -

I got a green support post you can stare at for 3 hours at Fenway or Wrigley if you like.
As bad as some sheds are nothing is worse than obstructed view with zero warning.0 -
Excited - I’m there, but been there, done that.I would definitely try and go to one stadium show (chicago?) but I absolutely hope they do more than 6-8 US shows soon. I had a blast at all the Wrigely shows but it would be nice to see them here in STL or a drive over to KC.
Edit: If they do continue these very short stadium runs (wrigley) one of these times I know I won't be able to pull off the trip. My wife and I got lucky we were able to do chicago in the past.Post edited by Abe Froman on0 -

Indifferent (pun intended) - Might see me there.I don’t mind sheds but maybe that’s because I grew up going to spac all the time and that has one of the best pre-party-out-by-a-stream-and-picnic-tables-starting-at-noon setup that I’ve ever experienced at a venue. I’m not one to turn down 14 beers and some shrooms before the sun even goes down.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0

Gov't Mule played 70 shows in the US alone this year, and also went to Europe etc.His eminence has yet to show.

International - 108Clearly those of us in the US would want them to play much more here...but the US is one country...the rest of the world is a pretty big place.I feel badly for people in areas they just don't go within the US...when was the last time they played in CA? 2013?The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

Correct... with the exception of the 2 Seattle Home Shows in '18, they haven't played the West Coast at all since 2013.

Indifferent (pun intended) - Might see me there. If they played Wrigley again, I'd obviously be there....would never pass up a chance to see PJ and sleep in my own bed. But yeah, definitely not going to travel for a ballpark show. Looked at flights to Europe for the summer and holy shit....that idea went away really quick. Really hoping for a US arena tour at some point next year.0
