So what if the Spring dates are arenas whereas the Fall dates are stadiums so they announce it all now because the stadiums will need more time to sell out?
I mean we have Fall rumors of Pittsburgh, Houston, Fenway, and Wrigley. Throw in Philly and Seattle because they probably won’t skip those. That’s 10 more shows, that’s another leg lol. Entirely possible there’s 3-4 other Fall stops we haven’t heard about yet...especially swing states and DC.
2003: Uniondale, MSG x2 | 2004: Reading | 2005: Gorge, Vancouver, Philly | 2006: East Rutherford x2, Gorge x2, Camden 1, Hartford | 2008: MSG x2, VA Beach | 2009: Philly x3 | 2010: MSG x2, Bristow | 2011: Alpine Valley x2 | 2012: MIA Philly | 2013: Wrigley, Charlottesville, Brooklyn 2 | 2014: Milan, Amsterdam 1 | 2016: MSG x2, Fenway x2, Wrigley 2 | 2018: Rome, Krakow, Berlin, Wrigley 2 | 2021: Sea Hear Now | 2022: San Diego, LA x2, MSG, Camden, Nashville, St. Louis, Denver | 2023: St. Paul 1, Chicago x2, Fort Worth x2, Austin 2 | 2024: Las Vegas 1, Seattle x2, Indy, MSG x2, Philly x2, Baltimore, Ohana 2
So Something that was said (accidentally) on a radio station is secrecy as well? Lets have it. What was said?

"Almost" a concert announcement on MMR! Stay tuned.....
This won't be Pearl Jam.
If you had heard what I heard, yeah...… they (accidentally) mentioned the band. AAAAND something about Monday???
We shall see
OMG are you kidding me? If only I knew what you may or may not have heard what someone said what they might have meant to say....... :one_f:one_finger:
They said "big concert announcement coming" then a big commotion where they instantly regretted mentioning it....
If they are playing stadiums in the Fall, it would be a good move to announce both tours. Because it takes a lot longer to sell those crappy up high seats at a stadium. Than it does an arena.
So what if the Spring dates are arenas whereas the Fall dates are stadiums so they announce it all now because the stadiums will need more time to sell out?
That is an interesting theory. Stadium dates are usually announced 7-8 months out. it would still sell out quickly as the others did.

I think you guys are also reading too much into the band securing their money. It’s Pearl Jam, their promoters aren’t worried. Only thing I’d be worried about is what was mentioned above, selling the stadiums out by giving more time. 4x at Wrigley, 3x at Fenway times 2 shows each...they can do it just might be tougher than usual. Personally I think TD Garden is the way to go, haven’t played there in years and it would be the hottest ticket in Boston

In the most sincere and reverent way, some people here clearly need to get outdoors.. maybe see the sun and get some vitamin D. Take a few steps back, take a breath and put away those PJ Venn diagrams of concerts past. 2020 is going to be a killer year for us so instead of snapping and snarking anyone's speculation, let this shit unfold organically.
I mean seriously. They haven’t really toured for a while. They don’t need the lead time to sell out shows. Everyone should be thrilled that it’s a shorter lead time. We aren’t giving live nation a loan for 8 months before a show

They haven't been back since they were unable to secure two nights in 2010.

Sirius XM show at the Tower Theater??
I think The Met would be more likely based on SiriusXM hosting the Phish exclusive concert there last month

If we don't hear anything today by 3pm PST, it's highly unlikely that the rumoured tour dates for March/April are happening. Just my opinion. Timing is too tight.
Tool just announced a tour late August that started in mid October. I think two month lead time is more than enough.
Also, when Metallica was announcing tours 10 to 14 months in advance there was a ton of complaining. People find it hard to commit to stuff that far ahead if they arent maximum die hard like us fan club warriors. I would bet less time from announcement to event is a push from promoters and venues when possible.
A new album pre tour would alleviate any sell out concerns if its decent.

Yeah, I doubt it would be. Just don’t think MMR would be hyped unless there is something local, and I think Philly was ruled out for the spring. Pierre Robert has hosted Sirius XM shows in the past, though I think he traveled elsewhere to do them. I don’t think they would be hyped for NYC shows. Maybe it’s Citizens Park in the fall?

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is the lack of hints or countdown clocks like in previous years. In this era of social media, bands are teasing fans with new album stuff well in advance. Ditto tours. Tool just did this after 13 year album hiatus. All the rumors seem to point to a 1/13 announcement, but I would be surprised if they don't formally tease anything in advance first.

I miss 2003 when they just started added shows out of no where near the end of the tour. Mansfield 3, Hershey, Holmdel, Mexico City...was awesome
