I've never been a fan of bands group-bowing at the end of shows.

never thought about it before. But I think I always disliked it.

A hand wave and a quick exit. Don't drag out the exit. Just leave. Drop-the-mic style. Rockbands need to be a bit more shitty towards the crowd in general.
Hahaha.  At one of the Mars Volta shows I went to they played over 2 hours.  Cedric didn’t say a single word to the crowd other than shouting Thank You at the very end right before slamming down the mic and walking off the stage.
On reflection I used like how Ed rarely said anything. It added some mystique.
Agreed.  IMO eddie talks wayyyy too much at shows now.  And I agree with spiritual, I hate the band bowing at the end of the show.
I was at St Paul 2014. 22 minute speech about ED. good cause, but terrible for the show.
Even worse on the bootleg. At least at the show we got the entertainment of him giving the doctor a "tour" of the stage.  You could definitely tell the band was getting antsy, though.  They were trying to segue into a song for about the last 5 minutes of the ordeal. Basically the whole time the doc was speaking, because EV took so long.
yeah, at least on the boot they put it at the end of the preceding song, so I can just hit skip to the next one, instead of at the beginning of the following song. but still irritating.

I like it when Eddie talks and tells stories at shows.   That was some of my favorite parts of the Wrigley '16 shows.  I actually find it to be a detractor when bands have no banter, or it's canned banter that's the same at ever show.  Don't really mind the bowing either.   I guess it's because my parents were heavy into musiscals/theatre and they always bow at the end.
I dig it too. just not when it's long enough to have 4 other songs thrown in.

Mike essentially said Dimi's news was bunk, so he is likely hiding his head is shame😁

    From Reddit:

the EU tour will be 12 cities including London and July as well as Stockholm and Bologna.  Album release in May, delayed due to vinyl pressing.

    .
This actually is plausible to me.  The biggest reason a surprise November release was dubious to me was that PJ always releases on vinyl and even if the album was done, like Dimi implied, it seemed unlikely a vinyl could be pressed that quickly.

I guess the good thing is that if it's done, there's a good chance that it could leak in the next 6 months or so.

I don't frequent reddit all that often, but I found it kind of odd that nobody asked this guy/gal where they got their info from.  Really, nobody even responded to it.  Also, one guy said that his buddy worked for Kiss and that their merch guys were booked for a PJ tour next year.  Take that for what it's worth.

Vinyl dictating release dates?  Crazy.  I hope that isn’t true.

Lightning Bolt wasn't available on vinyl when the album was released. It was at least a month, maybe more, before it was available. So, delaying an album release because of vinyl, seems a little far fetched to me.

"The delay is due to the vinyl pressing delayed longer than expected." That's the funniest shit ever! So many bands have released their new album digitally and on CD weeks or yet months before they ever get a chance to release their new album on vinyl. Any guesses when Tool's new album Fear Inculum released back in August will be released on vinyl?

Remember when reddit predicted the 2018 tour and had Edmonton and some Quebec festival on the list plus some other crazy ideas? Good times.
  • Yeah, it's not like any other bands have released their music and offered physical packages to be released in time. Maybe Pearl Jam should get a hold of Radiohead management. That is, if this is all true.

There’s no way the vinyl would hold up their plans.  So that whole post has to be BS.

The wording doesn’t even make sense.  It basically says that there was a delay on top of the delay.  BS.

I bought Lightning Bolt on vinyl >11< days after the album came out at the merch booth Philly Night 2.  I understand what you're saying though.  There was something with the die-cut covers damaging many and there was a repress.  The vinyl sold at shows seems to have been undamaged, at least my first press is undamaged.
  • If that reddit is true then some of you are really way behind in 2019. Vinyl has been outselling CDs this year. I know everything is digital download now, but in terms of physical releases...vinyl reins supreme

We seem to have a hit a dead end with any new album news or speculation...our minds certainly haven’t been blown as was hinted...tour news too is at a snails pace. Seems like we’re back to square one in most things PJ.

Nah, it pretty well sucks too. What a dumb concept for such a bland band.
While I can’t recall any of the blandish acoustic numbers, End Over End is one of the best Foo Fighters songs ever. Which makes me believe Pearl Jam has one more Alive or Breath or I Got Shit or In Hiding in them. Not hoping for an album choked full or great songs at this point anymore, but I think they gave at least one or two, maybe three more classic songs to add to the catalogue. Heck, they might already have them sitting around from years ago. Eddie throwaways included Betterman, which he wanted to give away to Greenpeace, Hard to Imagine released first on the Chicago Cab Soundtrack, Last Kiss given to No Boundaries Kosovo project, Without You given to Natalie Maines and Ben Harper etc.. With this band you never know.
