Love it, and yes, I agree that it's totally standing up over time. I don't like Big Wave, but other than that, amazing.
It did make Surf's Up a bit more fun. But yeah. Really a Lost Dogs kind of song.

Although this one has dropped a little in my ranking over the years, I still have extremely fond memories of when it was released.

2006 was probably the first 'peak' in my fandom. I was lucky enough to get two tickets to the London Astoria show in April, which was just mind boggling. That whole day is still hard to believe. Had a great time in the queue, got about 3rd or 4th row for the show and to see the band walk out in front of me just blew my mind. I had to move back a little after 3 or 4 songs because it was way too tight but the venue was tiny so it was a great view everywhere.  The floor was bouncing during Even Flow and a total stranger put his arm around me when it started and we went nuts together. It was a fun little moment.

The new songs already sounded pretty great, but by the time I saw them later that year in September the band were firing on all cyclinders.  Certain songs such as Come Back hit me harder now, because my mum had passed away on August 26th, and the funeral was the day before I had to fly out to Lisbon.  I was in shock, in denial, and I needed to get away. I needed those shows and that music and my friends or else I don't know what would've happened.

I'm rambling, but this record means a lot to me and that year was simultaneously the best and worst year of my life up to that point. I still remember the day the tickets arrived for the Astoria show arrived. My mum asked me to go to the shop and pick up the newspapers for her. She was sick at this point but she didn't really deteriorate until the summer months, so she was still at home. Anyways, the tickets arrived while I was out. When I got home, my mum had such a cheeky grin on her face and when I asked her what was going on she pulled the tickets out and I went nuts with excitement. It's such a small moment but I'll never forget her excitement at seeing how happy I was.

WWS, Severed Hand, Marker, Army Reserve, Come Back, Inside Job. Those are great songs.

This one hasn’t aged as well for me. I still think it’s a good album, and just what the band needed at the time, but I just don’t go back to it that often

Thanks Pap, what a great performance of that song! I love Avocado, it’s an album I listen to regularly.

Weird harsh sound on the album and Eddie sounded strained and rough (coming from me loving Riot Act) were my first impression. Love the songs live, especially now years later. Always loved WWS, Severed Hand, Gone etc. But have a hard time with Comatose and a song like Marker in the Sand - even though the lyrics are great - feels held back in some way. Comeback feels a bit "on the nose" or simple to me.

Remember everything about that period. WWS dropping. The surprisingly cheap looking throw-away music video. The Letterman appearance (streamed it live in the middle of the night from Sweden on a small 14'' computer screen). SNL.
the 2017 Brendan O'Brien remix of this album made all the difference for me.  if had only been mixed that way originally I would have reacted much more favorably to the album when it was released in 2006

Just the variance of so far people love and don't love from this album in this thread is nuts!

Some people don't love Inside Job? That's wild to me but to each their own.

Was at the London Astoria (2006) when they played most the album for the first time ever. Ill never forget when they started Army Reserve and Jeff's bass line just totally floored me. Amazing album!

Great album and and exciting period of the bands history. Definitely felt like a comeback album, from the energy of the music to the marketing of the album. Pearl Jam were voluntarily in a magazine! On TV! Had a music video! It definitely felt like they ripped back into the scene and we were all thrilled to have them back.

The ‘06 was nuts. It’s like the band finally shook off the weight of their early fame, disappointments in politics, personal problems etc. They came back and wanted to have fun again. Definitely the best tour from the 2000s.

I loved the album at the time and had it as my #2 (after Vitalogy). I think the individual songs are great but looking back the album doesn’t fell very cohesive. Will have to give the BoB mix a shot.

Maybe it’s nostalgia but I would still rank this one pretty high. Fifth at the lowest.

I love Avacado.   I'm fairly sure it's my favourite of the post Yield albums.

I think the '05 tour might of been the best tour of the 00's :)

Really loved this album and the promotion for it. They had been so reclusive and there was a lot of openly moody tracks on Binaural and Riot Act that it was fun to see some just straight forward rockers and a lead single that was scorching. Probably the pinnacle of promotion for a PJ album. They did the AOL sessions, music video, SNL, that awesome Letterman set, Jools Holland, the CD came with that NYE boot offer and then the amazing DVD package the next year. The 10 year anniversary special on Sirius back in '16 was pretty awesome to hear and really made me appreciate the album more. A solid musical album I still enjoy. Love that I finally got the LP when it was reissued a few years back. Great tour, but I got the short straw because PJ was teaming with Petty when they came to MN so I only got a half set, but I did get to see Petty so I thank them for that opportunity.
    It's a hopeless situation...
