Not a fan of Comatose, but the rest is stellar.

They played pretty much the whole album for the first time at the London, Astoria show in 2006.  Was the best PJ show I have ever (and probably will ever) been to! Will never forget hearing Army Reserve for the first time - Jeff's bass line just slayed!

Pearl Jam/Avocado is their best album since Yield. Top 5 for me.

It easily holds up much better than anything else post Yield (as JimmyV said).  Great album and a great tour as well.

The tour was brilliant.  San Diego 2006 show is one to listen to

Weird harsh sound on the album and Eddie sounded strained and rough (coming from me loving Riot Act) were my first impression. Love the songs live, especially now years later. Always loved WWS, Severed Hand, Gone etc. But have a hard time with Comatose and a song like Marker in the Sand - even though the lyrics are great - feels held back in some way. Comeback feels a bit "on the nose" or simple to me.

Remember everything about that period. WWS dropping. The surprisingly cheap looking throw-away music video. The Letterman appearance (streamed it live in the middle of the night from Sweden on a small 14'' computer screen). SNL.

Agreed, awesome tour. Self titled was a nice comeback album after riot act.

Really?! I mean we all have different tastes, I get that, but I would put Comatose in my top 10 favorite PJ songs.  I kinda figured it was one of everyone's favorite rockers.  The big guitars at the start sound so great.

Yeah, different strokes, but Comatose and Supersonic are duds, IMO, that are the only lows (Fixer too) on otherwise great albums.
Same goes for the tour discussion above, the 2006 tour is unlistenable to me...everything is played WAY too fast. Had a great time at all the shows we attended, but that was peak speed.

Probably tied with Binaural for 6th for me. This is their last album where the great songs outnumbered the good songs and ok songs.

Great album.  My least favorite song however is on it,"Army Reserve".  I like the guitar sounds, but just seems without nuance.

I love the first three albums honestly, but Avocado is really my go to listen for a full studio album.

The first five tracks just kill it, and the twin closers of Come Back and Inside Job are just amazing.

Inside Job is easily my favorite song.

Same.  I'm also not a big fan of Marker in the Sand which you mentioned previously you felt was lacking.

This was probably the toughest PJ album for me to get into.  It wasn't a first-listen, instant classic like the others.  (And yes, even Backspacer and Lightning Bolt gave me that instant hook).  Very rough, very garage, Eddie's vocal strain starts to become apparent.  It grew on me over time and I do enjoy the songs live.  Inside Job is an all-time top track.

This is a weird 1 for me.  I was on a bit of a pj break with a bunch of babies running around the house for a few years.  I never bought Avocado when it was released.  Then in late 2007 or early 2008, I got the George boxset.  So my first time hearing almost everything off of this album was the live Gorge versions.  Loved it all.  The studio version does have a bit of a strange sound to it for me.  When I crave anything off of Avocado, it’s gotta be live.

I really love this album although I didn't much when it first came out.  It has really grown on me and on some days I put it 4th on my fav list after Ten, Vs., Vitalogy.  Only duds are Parachutes and Army Reserve.

Love this album.  Come Back, Marker in the Sand, Army Reserve and Inside Job are classics.  Crazy that this album is 13 years old....it still feels like one of the "newer" PJ albums to me.

It is a really great album.  The songs are all solid even I don't really dig a few of them.   Not a big fan of Come Back, Gone or Inside Job but understand they are solid songs.
