Because it has some of their greatest tunes on it."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0

Not a fan of Comatose, but the rest is stellar.

Come back and inside job are up there with the best stuff they have done. Imo

They played pretty much the whole album for the first time at the London, Astoria show in 2006. Was the best PJ show I have ever (and probably will ever) been to! Will never forget hearing Army Reserve for the first time - Jeff's bass line just slayed!"Bring it back, to the clean form. To the pure form"

Pearl Jam/Avocado is their best album since Yield. Top 5 for me.

The album is dope....0

It easily holds up much better than anything else post Yield (as JimmyV said). Great album and a great tour as well.0

The tour was brilliant. San Diego 2006 show is one to listen to

Weird harsh sound on the album and Eddie sounded strained and rough (coming from me loving Riot Act) were my first impression. Love the songs live, especially now years later. Always loved WWS, Severed Hand, Gone etc. But have a hard time with Comatose and a song like Marker in the Sand - even though the lyrics are great - feels held back in some way. Comeback feels a bit "on the nose" or simple to me.
Remember everything about that period. WWS dropping. The surprisingly cheap looking throw-away music video. The Letterman appearance (streamed it live in the middle of the night from Sweden on a small 14'' computer screen). SNL.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

Had a great time at all the shows we attended, but that was peak speed.Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

Insane tour, and this album has always felt under appreciated imo. I love it0

Probably tied with Binaural for 6th for me. This is their last album where the great songs outnumbered the good songs and ok songs.
