It is a really great album.  The songs are all solid even I don't really dig a few of them.   Not a big fan of Come Back, Gone or Inside Job but understand they are solid songs.
Those are standouts for me! :-)

There are a ton of great ones. The easy answer are the Gorge shows.  Check out Newcastle from the Australian leg.

I’m partial to Wasted Reprise and Life Wasted, especially live and played back to back. Unemployable is my other favorite on the album. Come Back and Inside Job are good, not necessarily my faves but contain some really good moments and melodies. Come Back is kinda bluesy and I like when drums really kick in about half way through Inside Job.

Love it, and yes, I agree that it's totally standing up over time. I don't like Big Wave, but other than that, amazing.

It did make Surf's Up a bit more fun. But yeah. Really a Lost Dogs kind of song.

I do enjoy that the Verona show has had such presence in Pearl Jams history - Danny Clinch took some "famous" shots of the band/Eddie there, it obviously had a big part in Immagine in Cornice and later also had a presence in PJ20.

It was my first show, and it was definitely the one with the biggest buzz beforehand (with the Arena being so cool and all). But afterwards I argue more people talked about Pistoia and Milan (Italy wise), setlist and boot-wise.

And I listened a lot to Milan afterwards, with the great version of Black and Picture in a Frame and all, but the Verona show is really stellar. Obviously one of the greatest Release of all time (with the rain) and I enjoy Betterman in the first set without any tags, just a jam ending. If I remember it correctly.

And My Morning Jacket was an epic opener. In the rain.

I think Parachutes is one of their best songs of the last 20 years. Simple and beautiful. I hear it as a letter to a passed loved one. Not played live too often but was lucky to hear it Boston night 2 '06. The guitar always reminded me a lil of Dear Prudence.  Another good tune is Marker in the Sand. Love when the drums get that extra smack in the second verse. You can tell they really put a lot of effort into that whole album. It reminds of my experience with Binaural which took years to appreciate cause it's so good you can't hear how amazing every thing is at once. Like if you (both albums really) just pay attention to what Matt is doing it blows you away.

This is a weird 1 for me.  I was on a bit of a pj break with a bunch of babies running around the house for a few years.  I never bought Avocado when it was released.  Then in late 2007 or early 2008, I got the George boxset.  So my first time hearing almost everything off of this album was the live Gorge versions.  Loved it all.  The studio version does have a bit of a strange sound to it for me.  When I crave anything off of Avocado, it’s gotta be live.

Not a fan of Comatose, but the rest is stellar.

I was not a fan either when the album came out.  But hearing it live made me a fan.

    I really like this album.

Odd 2006 tour fact:   They opened both nights in NJ that tour with the same 3 songs in back to back shows.

Album has aged incredibly well. Kinda wish the production was a bit better. Even with the 2017 remix, its still just alright.

Great album. I think they’re completely capable of putting out an album with this level of quality again. Let’s hope the wait results in something incredible.

In a span of 2-3 months around the release of that album I quit a job, made some giant leaps in who/where I wanted to be, and met my future wife. Life Wasted, Gone, Inside Job amongst the backing tracks of each day that I felt like I needed to make changes.

For some reason I’ve avoided listening to it for a long time since, but the last few months it’s been a fantastic flashback. Songs have aged well and give me the same nostalgic vibes as Yield and Ten. If they even capture a fraction of Avocado in an upcoming album I’d be happy.

Such a great record...but funny that someone commented on Parachutes being their favorite....that is one of the three songs in the entire PJ originals catalog that I strongly dislike.
(miss ya buddy - I would even listen to that song with you!)

Severed Hand is my jam on this one.

Marker in the sand, parachutes, and army reserve hold it back from close to perfect. Only really cant stand parachutes.

Gotta put it at 6. Cant drop the big dogs out of the top 5. No particular order because it's too hard. Ten, Yield, Vs., No Code, and Vitalogy.
