  • This is one of my favorites and helped me get through a transition in life (isn't that how music often works?). I can't tell you how much I listened to the thing in the summer of 06.

At this point Severed Hand is my No. 1 song I'm still waiting to hear live.

Crazy that their last big tour was in support of this album.

What did Stone say it was costing them to bring that green laser out on tour? 50 grand a week?

I was just contemplating this album today.  When it first dropped, I gave it a fair run, but never stood the test of time.  It’s clearly their worst effort (if you can call it effort).   Poor songwriting, muffled production, Ed’s strained vocal performance.  Something went wrong here.  The instrumental Avocado leaked tracks are better than anything on this album.

Avocado lacks the crackle of other PJ albums that feel more passionate, energetic or alive. This thing is dead in the water.  They were so lazy they couldn’t even come up with an album title.

    ”Superunowned”

But Yeah, this one being selftitled was weird. And that the cover was approved by all the members.

    WATA?

By the way, Avocado is great! Most of it anyway.

  • When this album first came out, my first thought was how great these songs would sound live. And that definitely happened. Such a great album. I wish Nugs had the 2006 shows on there...

Not a fan of Comatose, but the rest is stellar.

    Avocado

I was not a fan either when the album came out.  But hearing it live made me a fan.

    I really like this album.

Odd 2006 tour fact:   They opened both nights in NJ that tour with the same 3 songs in back to back shows.
Odd 2006 tour fact. They never played DEEP
This drives me bananas for compilation purposes! THey also omitted Habit from the tour!
