Something equivalent for that to happen this day and age would need Drake, Migos, Cardi B, 21 Pilots, Imagine Dragons, Bieber, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Meek Mill, Ariana Grande, A boogie, J Cole, Maroon 5, Billie Ellish and some country acts to make it huge...
Holy crap that list makes me feel way out of it. To get me to care about something like this or actually attend, I would want to see:

    Pearl Jam
    Nine Inch Nails
    QOTSA
    Radiohead
    Oasis reunion
    RATM reunion
    Tool
    U2
    -----------
    Lumineers
    Killers
    Reignwolf
    Royal Blood
    Dermot Kennedy
    Ruston Kelly

@tempo_n_groove listed, and I'm way out of it.

The bottom tier could happen, the top?  Not so much.

My comment got cut off at the bottom, but yeah, I had written that the second tier is being treated as headliners. Combine that with what you wrote people listen to these days, and I'm way out of the target audience here.

Anyone go to this??  We had PPV so we watched it all weekend for three days straight.  Amazing festival

Woodstock 94 —-  Peter Gabriel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aerosmith, NIN, Green Day, Blind Melon, Metallica, LiVE, Porno for Pyros, Cypress Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Candlebox, Kings X, James, The Band, Sheryl Crow, Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin, Rollins Band, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Cranberries, Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan, Santana, Jimmy Cliff, Arrested Development, about twenty more bands....

All of those bands mentioned above were at their peak when they did this.  CSN, Cocker, Dylan, Santana and Cliff are the only retros of that list.

So pretty much what everyone listens to today and not from 25 years ago.

Yep. Thats why they’ve passed us by lol.  I think if we all liked the Woodstock 50 lineup most kids would hate it

CSN, Cocker, Santana, etc were all probably younger than current PJ at Woodstock 94

In order to charge $450 a ticket and get 100K people +, I think they would need to have a wide variety to draw everyone in with 'must see' type of draws that makes it a must see from numerous demographics.

Like someone mentioned, RATM reunion, PJ, Phish, Tool, Lady Gaga, 21 Pilots, Imagine Dragons, DMB, Drake, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Ariene Grande, some big Country Act.... etc.

I just dont think you can get all these acts under one roof like they could in 1994 and 1999.

I would like to commend ACL for landing GNR and The Cure for this year.

    That is tempting.

Damn, I went last year for Metallica.  It was cool, but fkn overwhelming, especially after being at super chill Ohana Fest a few weeks before.

When you have the younger generation turn their backs on guitar rock that inspired people for fifty years before you, you are left with festivals that cant sell tickets, festivals that get canceled and scary potential lineups like that one above

That line up above is dreadful, such is the times we live in though. My opinion too, obviously.

Sort of?  It's not cancelled, but it completely lacks funding.... seems like kind of of a train wreck?

Waynestock had better organization than this shitshow. Maybe Aerosmith will roll up last second in a limo.

One band and one band only can save this festival...

Why would anyone buy tickets to this?  The festival market is saturated.  No reason to take the risk.

I’m only interested in this if Pearl Jam shows up.  Wouldn’t bother for any other band.

Oppenheimer stepped in to provide financing.  Guessing there are a bunch of hippie millionaires that want this to happen. Personally, I am not interested in attending.
