I wonder how many democrats outside of TX voted for Beto!  Just a theory, ha.
Oh these political shenanigans, they’re too much, just too much :)
    Doesn't make sense.
Well it seemed like everyone except TX voters wanted Robert to win...he was riding quite the wave outside of TX.
Cruz won by a far smaller margin than his last race. O’Rourke was the heavy favourite with young voters, and Cruz with old voters - no surprise  at all, but that bodes much better for O’Rourke’s future than Cruz’s.

Any hopes for impeachment have gone down the drain.
    That's not true at all.

But we need real evidence.  The only thing that comes close right now is emoluments.  Now if the administration starts refusing subpoenas.  We're about to watch two years hardball politics.
Pelosi has stated that it would need to be bipartisan if she would chase impeachment.  No way republicans join that fight.

And since the house was a lot closer than projected and required some Democrats to portray they are republican in close races there is no way it will be pursued from a strategic standpoint.
Speculation in the absence of Team Mueller’s report is quite different than speculation with Team Mueller’s report exonerating Team Trump Treason. Nancy had to say all the nice things prior to the election. Politics.
Perhaps.  I really think it would take Muellers report to have an earth shattering revelation.
Do you doubt there is there, there?
I have no idea.  It better be bigger then trying to net Junior.
Little fish lead to big fish. No way Team Trump Treason didn’t know about the Team Trump Treason Tower (4 Ts if you’re counting at home) meeting before hand or the purpose of said meeting. Obstruction of justice and conspiracy in the subsequent dictation of the adoption memo and pressuring of and ultimately firing Comey. And that’s just for starters. Bigger than Watergate, much bigger.

Seems like he almost won in TX which is unheard of in TX so it seems that TX voters who are the only people who can vote in TX took quite a liking to him as well.
No, I agree, he ran a great campaign.  I actually thought he was going to pull it off!

Cruz won by less than 75,000 votes, with an Independent candidate getting 33,000 also.

Women have been the real winners of this election. In Governorships and House seats.

Dems get Oregon, California, New Mexico, Michigan governors - 3 women and Gavin Newsom. Minnesota goes all blue. Iowa looks to go all blue except for possibly  fucking Steve King.

Kavanaugh had a big impact in the Senate.

Overall a mixed bag.  Squeaking OT the House is nice, but Trump lost half as many seats as Obama did in 2010. Nice diversity (2 Muslim women, an openly gay Governor, Kim Davis losing).  Nice to see Kobach lose.

But those who say the Dems can’t just be “not Trump” are right.  He’s popular enough to win and have coattails.

Yes! In NM we went mostly blue. The house rep. In my district is a Native American woman who has worked with a lot tribal governments here. There was also another woman Native American elected from Kansas. I am encouraged by the diversity of the candidates.  Biggest disappointment for me is having to see Ted Cruz for 6 more yrs.

It's amazing that it took this long to have Native Americans in Congress. Congratulations on the winners in NM. As for Cruz, I don't think there are many people that look forward to seeing him, including his colleagues.

Maine just announced a Dem woman will replace the ever repugnant Paul LaPage as governor.

And the proud districts in New York and California that re elected indicted Chris Collins and Duncan Hunter. I hope they enjoy being represented from federal prison. :not_listening:  And the oh so proud Iowans that sent the white supremacist Steve King back to Washington. Job done very not well people.

It was better than expected in my opinion but my expectations were pretty low. However with the opposing party now the majority in Congress we would hope the President and his party will be challenged on decisions and also the investigations into possible criminal or comprising activity will go forward. In theory anyway, our government is supposed to have this as a check and balance system which wasn't happening in the last couple years.

I think the Democrats had very high expectations.  They were facing a party that has a clown for POTUS, no filter on his brain for his thoughts, and those thoughts fire off randomly in the middle of the night, every night.

My opinion is that the Feinstein hail mary for the supreme court really botched their senate hopes.
