    This wasn't a trial.  That's a false comparative.  There's no reason not to interview judge under oath and continue evaluating, considering the credibility Ford displayed today.  This is a lifetime appointment so no reason to hurry. We need the people of the highest character on the bench,  regardless of how long it takes to find that person.

    He has admitted in his opening statement to being a GOP hack and will he not be asked to recuse himself from these cases?
    Surely that is how it works?

    Either way interesting for the GOP as they always had the votes to confirm whomever they wanted, but to rush to confirm without proper investigation seems like political suicide ahead of the November votes. 
    Woman are allowed to vote in all states, right?

    At least for now, but if they keep trying to report all these non-existent sexual assault incidents they'll have to be punished and who better than BK after all the trauma he was put through.

    Really? I guess in my life I’ve never really been overtly proud of where I was born nor overtly embarrassed.  I’m happy living in America. Things don’t always go your way and there are things nowadays that make me angry...but I was pretty angry when we as a country let our president fuck his subordinate at work and barely blink.  

    I have concerns, but I think the US will be alright. Maybe I’ll change that opinion in 2 years...or 4.

    I believe Ford's story. Like others have said, Kavanugh's unwillingness to ask for an FBI investigation (or take a polygraph) aren't consistent with a guy who's innocent and looking to clear his name. I just wish Ford did her "civic duty" (as she put it) years ago and exposed this guy while he was climbing the ranks of the government, rather than waiting until two weeks before he's about to ascend to the highest-ranking job in his profession. Maybe her testimony may sway those four "swing" republicans to vote against confirmation, but still, this entire circus could have been avoided. Just another embarrassment for our country.

    This whole thing is like watching insanity...there's no evidence, make sure there's no investigation to find any evidence so there's no evidence. Such a cover-up. Yell all you want; not buying it. The man is clearly not fit for the SCOTUS; his temperament is all wrong and will make a very bad justice.
